XLRI has conferred the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal upon N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, while also honoring 14 students with Medals for Academic Excellence. Furthermore, diploma degrees were conferred upon 551 graduating students.
New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur organised its 68th Annual Convocation on March 23, 2024, for its graduating PGDM batch. During the event, diploma degrees were conferred upon 551 graduating students.
XLRI Jamshedpur also presented the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace Award to N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons.
Along with this, Medals for Academic Excellence were awarded to 14 deserving students by Dr. Sanjay Patro, Dean (Academics). Four faculty members were acknowledged for their research papers published in the esteemed A* Category.
TV Narendran, CEO & MD of Tata Steel & Chairman of XLRI, addressed the crowd, mentioning that XLRI was the first management school established in the country and that it was celebrating its 75 years of existence.
Sharing that the competition had changed since 1949, with many other management institutes now present in the country, Narendran highlighted XLRI's ongoing commitment to enhancing the student experience.
Furthermore, he mentioned an expectation for an India-China moment over the next 20-30 years, considering India's progress. Narendran expressed gratitude to the Jesuits for their significant leadership and contribution in establishing and nurturing the institute. He concluded by extending his heartiest congratulations to the graduating batch.

Addressing the significant occasion, Fr. S George S.J., Director of XLRI Jamshedpur, remarked that this is a historic year as they mark 75 years of educating young minds and contributing to nation-building.
