VITREE 2026 Registration Begins PhD Admission; Apply Now @admissions.vit.ac.in

VITREE 2026 registrations have started for PhD admissions for the July 2026 session at VIT. The university will conduct the VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) on April 28 and May 3, 2026 for candidates seeking admission to PhD, Direct PhD, and PhD in Deep Technology programmes.

Eligible applicants must apply online through the official portal, choose their test city, and complete document submission. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews conducted in hybrid or online mode.

How to Apply for VITREE 2026?

Candidates must complete the application in the following steps:

1. New user registration
2. Verify via SMS and e-mail
3. Sign in as registered user
4. Fill personal and educational details
5. Pay application fee
6. Upload photo and signature
7. Upload required documents
8. Download filled application form

Applicants should carefully check all details before final submission to avoid rejection.

The VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) 2026 will be conducted in an online mode with 100 multiple-choice questions.

For PhD and PhD in Deep Technology (Master’s degree holders), the paper includes 70 technical questions, 15 English communication skills questions, and 15 statistics and probability questions, testing subject knowledge along with analytical and language ability. For Direct PhD and Deep Technology (B.E./B.Tech. graduates), the exam consists of 80 technical questions and 20 English communication skills questions, and except language sections, the paper will be entirely in English.

After submitting the application, candidates must complete the online registration through the VIT website, followed by UG/PG degree verification, selection of the preferred test city, and appearance for the entrance exam.

Those who qualify will be called for an interview conducted in hybrid or online mode, after which selection intimation, guide allocation, tuition fee payment, orientation, class commencement, and document verification will take place. Only candidates who appear for VITREE will be eligible for the interview stage.

Final selection is based on UG/PG academic performance, VITREE scores, valid GATE/NET scores (if applicable), and interview performance.

During the interview, the panel assesses the Statement of Purpose or research proposal, subject knowledge, communication skills, ability to defend ideas, and prior research experience such as projects or publications.

For Deep Technology specialisations, additional focus is given to innovation, originality, pitching ability, feasibility of ideas, clear timelines, milestones, and technical research background.

Applicants are advised to apply early, prepare technical subjects thoroughly, draft a strong SoP, and keep all academic documents ready, as the exam is scheduled on April 28 and May 3, 2026, followed by interviews and final admissions.
