VISTAS Chennai Invites Applications for PhD Admission 2026; Apply Till January 9

Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai, has invited applications for admission to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the January 2026 session.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their duly filled-in PhD application forms through the official admission process, with the last date for submission fixed as January 9, 2026.

As part of the admission procedure, eligible applicants will be required to appear for a common entrance examination conducted by VISTAS in the respective departments, followed by a personal interview. The entrance test is designed to assess the candidate’s research aptitude, subject knowledge, and preparedness for doctoral-level studies.

Candidates shortlisted after the entrance examination will be called for the interview stage, where the departmental selection committee will evaluate their research interests and academic background.

However, candidates who have qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be exempted from appearing for the entrance examination, as per the university guidelines. Such candidates will be directly considered for the interview stage, subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria prescribed by the institution.

The university will inform eligible candidates about further steps in the admission process, including entrance test and interview schedules, through official communication channels.
