IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for the Joint PhD program in collaboration with The University of Queensland, Australia, for the July 2025 intake. Interested candidates can submit their applications by March 18, 2025, through the link below.

UQ-IITD Joint PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility

All applicants must meet entry requirements for PhD program of both UQ and IITD.

IIT Delhi Admission Requirements

Master’s in Engineering/Technology

• Gen/OBC/EWS: CGPA 6.50/10 or 65% aggregate.
• SC/ST/PH: CGPA 6.00/10 or 60% aggregate (55% in other exams).
• Public Exams: High GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR/ICAR/ICMR/DST-INSPIRE scores considered.

Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology

• Gen/OBC/EWS: CGPA 8.00/10 or 80% aggregate + 2 years research experience with publications.
• SC/ST/PH: CGPA 7.50/10 or 75% aggregate + 2 years research experience with publications.
• Public Exams: Required for non-CFTI candidates (GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR/ICAR/ICMR/DST-INSPIRE).

Master’s in Sciences

• Gen/OBC/EWS: CGPA 6.50/10 or 65% aggregate.
• SC/ST/PH: CGPA 6.00/10 or 60% aggregate (55% in other exams).
• Public Exams: High GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR/ICAR/ICMR/DST-INSPIRE scores required.

M.B.B.S./B.D.S./M.D.S./B.H.M.S.

• Gen/OBC/EWS: CGPA 6.00/10 or 60% aggregate.
• SC/ST/PH: CGPA 5.50/10 or 55% aggregate.
• Public Exams: High GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR/ICAR/ICMR/DST-INSPIRE or other national-level scores required.

Master’s in Arts/Humanities

• Gen/OBC/EWS: CGPA 6.50/10 or 65% aggregate.
• SC/ST/PH: CGPA 6.00/10 or 60% aggregate (55% in other exams).
• Public Exams: High UGC-NET/CSIR scores required.

UQ Admission Requirements

To qualify for entry at UQ, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• A Master of Philosophy or equivalent research master’s degree.
• A bachelor’s degree with at least Honours Class IIA or equivalent.
• A coursework master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 5.65 (on UQ’s 7-point scale) and relevant research experience, approved by the dean.
• A postgraduate degree (minimum one year full-time) with a GPA of at least 5.0 and demonstrated research experience.*
• A bachelor's degree plus at least two years of relevant research experience, including publications.
