NTA has released the UGC NET June 2026 subject wise exam schedule at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The exam will run from June 22 to June 30 in two daily shifts. City slips release on June 10 and admit cards on June 15.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 subject wise examination schedule on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The schedule was issued through a public notice dated June 6, 2026. The UGC NET June 2026 session will be held from June 22 to June 30, 2026.
The test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of each paper is 180 minutes without any break between Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can use the schedule to plan their preparation and travel for the exam.
The UGC NET qualifies candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.

How to Download the UGC NET June 2026 Admit Card?
The admit card will be released by NTA closer to the exam window. Candidates must follow these steps to download it.
- Visit the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the UGC NET June 2026 admit card link on the homepage.
- Enter the application number, date of birth, and security pin.
- Submit the details and view the admit card on screen.
- Download the admit card and take a printout for the exam day.
UGC NET June 2026 Qualifying Categories
NTA evaluates candidates across three different categories based on their performance.
- Category 1: Eligibility for JRF, Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD.
- Category 2: Eligibility for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD.
- Category 3: Eligibility for admission to PhD only.
Since 2024, UGC NET scores are used for direct PhD admission across central and state universities. This replaces separate entrance tests at most institutions. The June session is a key route for the 2026-27 academic intake.
