UCEED Registration 2027: How to Apply Online (Step by Step)
You can follow the steps listed below to register and apply for UCEED 2027 examination.
- Step 1: Read the UCEED 2027 Information Brochure on uceed.iitb.ac.in (check that you have the latest version).
- Step 2: Open the UCEED candidate portal and register as a new candidate.
- Step 3: Fill in personal details, qualifying exam details, and category.
- Step 4: Upload the required documents in the specified formats (JPEG/PDF).
- Step 5: Pay the registration fee online.
- Step 6: Submit the form and save the confirmation for future reference.
UCEED allows a maximum of two attempts, in consecutive years. A candidate who appeared in UCEED 2026 can therefore use UCEED 2027 as the second and final attempt. Anyone who has already used both consecutive attempts cannot register again.
The fee is the same as for a fresh candidate, and the 2027 eligibility rules (age cut-off and Class XII first-appearance in 2026 or 2027) apply in full.
Every applicant uploads a photo (.jpg), signature (.jpg), proof of age (.pdf) and a qualifying exam document (.pdf). On top of these, the following apply:
| If you are | Also upload (PDF) |
|---|---|
| OBC-NCL | OBC-NCL certificate and/or Appendix 2 |
| SC or ST | SC/ST certificate and/or Appendix 3 |
| EWS | EWS certificate and/or Appendix 4 |
| PwD | UDID card and/or Appendices 5 to 9 |
| Needing scribe or extra time | Appendix 11 request letter |
| Class XII 2027 | Principal's certificate (Appendix 1) |
| Name differs from Class XII certificate | Gazette notification |
The registration form refers to appendices by number, which confuses many applicants. Based on the official registration page:
| Appendix | Used for |
|---|---|
| 1 | Principal/board certificate for Class XII 2027 candidates |
| 2 | OBC-NCL certificate format |
| 3 | SC / ST certificate format |
| 4 | EWS certificate format |
| 5 to 9 | PwD certificates (including dyslexia Forms 1 and 2 in Appendices 8 and 9) |
| 10 | Medical certificate for scribe |
| 11 | Scribe / compensatory time request letter |
Download the formats from the brochure and use them as given.
As of 21 October 2026, the official announcements page still carries only the 1 October launch notice. Registration has been open for 20 days, and no extension, correction or brochure update has been issued.
| Deadline | Days left (from 21 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 10 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee ₹500 extra) | 16 days |
Candidates who want to withdraw an accepted seat must do so within the round-wise window, which ends at 6 PM.
| Round | Withdrawal window |
|---|---|
| I | 30 April to 11 May 2027 |
| II | 28 May to 9 June 2027 |
| III | 19 to 22 June 2027 |
| IV | 4 to 7 July 2027 |
- Refunds apply through Round IV (7 July 2027, 6 PM): ₹60,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and ₹15,000 for SC/ST/PwD, after a ₹5,000 deduction.
- After the last round's allotment is announced, candidates cannot withdraw or decline a seat.
Students planning ahead ask when the seat acceptance fee must be paid. As per the admission schedule, payment starts on the day of each announcement and ends at 6 PM on:
| Round | Allotment announced | Fee payment last date |
|---|---|---|
| I | 21 April 2027 | 29 April |
| II | 19 May 2027 | 27 May |
| III | 14 June 2027 | 18 June |
| IV | 25 June 2027 | 3 July |
| V | 9 July 2027 | 13 July |
The round dates are tentative, and changes will be posted on the official website. Pay well before the deadline to avoid last-minute transaction issues.
PwD candidates who request a scribe or compensatory time at registration should note a long-term condition. As per the official registration page, candidates who use these services cannot switch from the PwD category to their general category during B.Des admission.
- Compensatory time is 20 minutes per hour for each part, and it cannot be transferred between Part A and Part B.
- Misuse without a qualifying disability leads to exclusion from evaluation, ranking and admission.
The photo and details you give at registration are used to verify your identity on exam day. The official exam-day page states:
- Only candidates with a valid admit card and original photo ID may enter.
- If identity is doubtful, the candidate may be refused entry. Authorities may allow entry after formalities, but no extra time is given for them.
- Such cases are decided by the UCI Committee, whose decision is final and binding.
- Thumb impression and photograph are captured at the centre and may be cross-checked at admission.
Use a clear, recent photo at registration so it matches how you look on exam day.
As of 20 October 2026, the UCEED website still shows only the 1 October launch announcement. Registration has been open for 19 days, and the official dates have not changed.
| Deadline | Days left (from 19 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 11 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee ₹500 extra) | 17 days |
The official dates table says requests to change the examination date and time will not be considered. UCEED 2027 is on Sunday, 17 January 2027, 9 AM to 12 noon, and the exam-day page repeats the same rule.
Students with clashing board practicals or other exams should plan accordingly, because no alternative slot is offered.
Many first-time applicants are unsure what they must select in the registration form. At the UCEED registration stage, you choose only exam cities, three in order of preference. Institute choices come later.
| Stage | What you choose | When |
|---|---|---|
| UCEED registration | 3 exam cities | Till 31 Oct (6 Nov with late fee) |
| B.Des application | Institutes and programmes | 15 March to 12 April 2027 |
Seat allotment is based on your UCEED All India Rank, category and the institute choices you give at the B.Des stage.
The official registration page says that registration should be done ONLY through the online registration portal. There is no offline form or separate registration channel. Candidates are solely responsible for entering the correct qualifying exam and category details and uploading valid documents.
- If someone helps you fill the form, check every entry yourself before submission.
- Keep the login and password with you, as the result is shown only through your login.
- IIT Bombay accepts doubts at uceed@iitb.ac.in before submitting.
The last date for regular-fee registration, 31 October 2026, is a Saturday. The UCEED helpline (+91 22 2576 4063 / 9093 / 9094) works Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, so phone support will not be available on the last regular day.
- Last working day to call before the regular deadline: Friday, 30 October.
- The late-fee deadline, 6 November, is a Friday, and the portal closes at 5 PM, 30 minutes before the helpline closes.
- Email uceed@iitb.ac.in for any doubts before submitting the form.
Clear your doubts and complete payment early in the week rather than on the last day.
As of 19 October 2026, the UCEED website still shows only the 1 October launch announcement. Registration has been open for 18 days, and the official dates have not changed.
| Deadline | Days left (from 19 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 12 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee ₹500 extra) | 18 days |
Some students ask what happens if a document or category claim turns out to be wrong. The brochure is strict:
- Impersonation or unfair means in the exam is a serious offence, leading to immediate disqualification and possible criminal proceedings.
- Using false documents to claim reservation leads to exclusion from admission, or cancellation if the candidate is already admitted.
Apply under the category you are genuinely eligible for, with valid certificates.
Combining the registration fee with the ₹500 late fee, an Indian candidate pays the following (bank and service charges are extra):
| Candidate | By 31 Oct 2026 | 1 Nov to 6 Nov 2026, 5 PM |
|---|---|---|
| Female, SC, ST, PwD | ₹2,000 | ₹2,500 |
| All other Indian candidates | ₹4,000 | ₹4,500 |
The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Foreign nationals pay in US dollars as listed in the fee entry above.
The official Downloads page lists the question paper and answer key for every year from UCEED 2015 to UCEED 2026. The UCEED 2026 paper and key are also available, so students registering now can practise on the latest official paper.
- Both the question paper and answer key are listed for each year.
- The page also hosts the UCEED 2027 Information Brochure and a UCEED 2027 poster.
- No official mock test link is shown on the website's navigation.
Collegedunia has also prepared the UCEED previous years’ papers for students preparing for UCEED 2027. You can download and solve UCEED PYQs from the link below.
As of 17 October 2026, the official announcements page still carries only the 1 October launch notice. There is no extension, correction or brochure update. Registration has been open for 16 days.
| Deadline | Days left (from 17 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 14 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee) | 20 days |
The brochure says admit cards are issued only to candidates "whose registration is complete in all aspects", while incomplete forms are summarily rejected. It does not give a step-by-step definition of "complete", so students should treat every stage on the portal as mandatory.
- Create your login and password on the official portal.
- Fill in all details and upload every required document.
- Pay the registration fee (non-refundable and non-transferable).
- Check that the portal shows your registration as successfully submitted.
Admit cards will be available for download from 1 January 2027.
Students whose name or date of birth is written differently on their certificates often ask how to proceed. The brochure's position:
- Name mismatch with the Class XII certificate: upload a gazette notification mentioning the name change as a PDF.
- Date of birth mismatch: the brochure gives no separate rule. Proof of age must be an SSC certificate, passport, or birth certificate in PDF.
- The UCEED score card cannot be used as proof of date of birth, category, or disability status.
- Candidates with doubts can email uceed@iitb.ac.in before registering.
Students born close to the cut-off often ask if any extra relaxation is available. The brochure states only the two cut-off dates below and mentions no other age relaxation.
| Category | Must be born on or after |
|---|---|
| OPEN, EWS, OBC-NCL | 1 October 2002 |
| SC, ST, PwD | 1 October 1997 |
Candidates found not to meet any eligibility criterion later have their registration cancelled, so verify your date of birth before paying the fee.
Two of the most common eligibility doubts have the same answer in the brochure: no.
- No minimum Class XII percentage is stated for UCEED eligibility. Only the age limit, the attempt limit and the Class XII first-appearance year (2026 or 2027) apply.
- JEE is not required to register for UCEED or for B.Des admission through UCEED.
Individual participating institutes may have their own conditions at the admission stage, so check each institute's rules during counselling.
Many students ask for the exact KB size and pixel dimensions of the photo and signature. The brochure specifies only the following and gives no size or pixel limits:
- Photo: recent colour, full-frontal, taken within the last six months, head covering 70–80% of the frame, .jpg only.
- Signature: clear image of the full signature on white paper, .jpg only.
Any size limit will be shown on the registration portal at the upload step, so keep a few versions of the image ready. Third-party size figures should not be treated as official.
As of 15 October 2026, UCEED 2027 registration has been open for 14 days. No change in dates has been announced on the official site so far.
| Deadline | Days left (from 15 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 16 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee of ₹500 applies) | 22 days |
Applying before 31 October saves the late fee. Registration fee is non-refundable, so confirm eligibility first.
Two fee queries come up often. Based on the official fee table:
- Female candidate who is also SC/ST/PwD: no further concession is stated. Both groups are charged the same ₹2,000.
- Second attempt: the brochure gives no separate fee for repeat candidates. The standard fee table applies, with a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.
- All other Indian candidates pay ₹4,000. The late fee after 31 October is ₹500.
As per the brochure, it is a test-centre-based exam in two parts, held on 17 January 2027, from 9 AM to 12 noon.
| Part | Mode | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part A | Computer-based (NAT, MSQ, MCQ) | 200 | 2 hours |
| Part B | Sketching and design aptitude, in an answer booklet | 100 | 1 hour |
Because all candidates must travel to a centre, the three exam cities chosen during registration matter.
Students who forgot their login details sometimes think of creating a new account. The brochure does not explicitly state a "one registration per candidate" rule, but several rules make duplicates risky:
- Registration starts with creating a login and password on the official portal.
- The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, so a second payment cannot be adjusted against the first.
- Incorrect or false information can lead to cancellation of candidature.
If you cannot access your account, email uceed@iitb.ac.in with your details instead of registering again.
As of 14 October, IIT Bombay's official announcements page still shows only the 1 October launch notice, with no addendum or change in registration dates. Registration has been open for 13 days.
| Deadline | Days left (from 14 Oct) |
|---|---|
| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 17 days |
| 6 November 2026, 5 PM (late fee) | 23 days |
As per the official website, corrections can be made through the UCEED website up to 8 January 2027, 5:00 PM. However, some details are locked:
- Category cannot be changed after the registration deadline. The category in the database is final.
- Candidates are fully responsible for the accuracy of the category, qualifying examination, and date of birth.
- IIT Bombay can cancel admission if any submitted information is found to be untrue.
Check every field before final submission to avoid last-minute trouble.
If the registration fee was deducted but the application shows payment as incomplete, do not pay again immediately. The official FAQ advises contacting the UCEED office by phone or email with the details below. IIT Bombay states that payment problems will be rectified before the last date of application submission.

According to the official website, NIOS candidates can do either of the following to prove their qualifying status:
- Upload the Certificate from the Principal of School/College (Appendix 1), certified by the nearest NIOS office.
- Or upload their NIOS I-card.
As per the official website, a qualified candidate who misses the Joint Seat Allocation 2027 registration deadline will NOT be considered for admission in IITs. UCEED registration and Joint Seat Allocation registration are two separate steps.
- UCEED registration (now open) lets you appear for the exam on 17 January 2027.
- After the result (6 March 2027), qualified candidates must apply separately for B.Des admission.
- Keep the information brochure handy, as its rules apply to both UCEED and B.Des admission.
- The candidate's name, address, mobile number and email, addressed to the Chairperson, UCEED-CEED 2027, IIT Bombay.
- A tick for your disability type (visually impaired, dyslexic, or disability in the upper limbs or loss of fingers).
- A tick for compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) and/or scribe.
- A statement that you have separately uploaded your PwD certificate.
- Your acknowledgement of the penalties for misuse and that your category will not change from PwD in B.Des admission.
- Signatures of both the candidate and a parent/guardian, with the parent/guardian's name.
- Your nationality is judged at the time of registration. Anyone who is not an Indian citizen, by birth or naturalisation, is treated as a foreign national.
- A foreign national gets a seat only if their rank is the same as or better than the closing rank of the OPEN category in that programme, within the 10% cap.
- There are no separate supernumerary seats or sub-category for females among foreign national seats.
- For OCI/PIO cards issued before 4 March 2021, no female supernumerary seats are added either, because women already make up over 20% of B.Des admissions.
- The number of supernumerary seats available is announced only when seat allocation starts.
As of 12 October, IIT Bombay's official announcements page still shows only the 1 October launch notice, with no addendum or change in registration dates. Registration has been open for 11 days.

| 31 October 2026 (regular fee) | 19 days |

- A residential flat of 1,000 sq. ft. or more
- A residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities

"Family" means the candidate, parents, siblings below 18, spouse and children below 18. Property in different places is clubbed together. The certificate must be certified by an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and must state that the candidate's caste is not SC, ST or in the central OBC list.

| Amputation, complete permanent paralysis of limbs, or blindness | Form II (Appendix 5) |
| Multiple disabilities | Form III (Appendix 6) |
| Other cases | Form IV (Appendix 7); countersigned by the CMO/Head of Government Hospital if issued by a non-government doctor |
| Dyslexia | Form Dyslexic 1 (evaluation report from a government or approved clinic) and Form Dyslexic 2 (testimonial from the last school/college) |
PwD benefits need at least 40% impairment (locomotor, visual or severe dyslexia). Leprosy-cured candidates who are otherwise fit are also covered. Dyslexia certificates must say "SEVERE". Candidates who passed Class XII through open school or privately can submit a certificate from the board confirming the dyslexia concessions.
- Blindness, locomotor disability in both arms together, or cerebral palsy: a valid UDID card or the Appendix 10 medical certificate is needed.
- Other disabilities: a certificate that you have a functional limitation to write, issued by the Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon or Medical Superintendent of a government healthcare institution.
- Scribes are Class IX or X students from a panel arranged by the centre. You choose one, typically a day before the exam.
- Compensatory time for Part A cannot be moved to Part B, or the other way round.
- If you use a scribe or extra time without the required extent of disability, you are excluded from evaluation, ranking and admission.

For OBC-NCL, SC and ST, upload a valid certificate and/or the Appendix 2 (OBC-NCL) or Appendix 3 (SC/ST) format, certified by a competent authority. Accepted issuing authorities include:
- District Magistrate, Collector, Deputy Commissioner or Deputy Collector
- Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Taluka Magistrate or Executive Magistrate
- Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar
- Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate's family resides
A certificate issued by any other authority will be rejected. For OBC-NCL, your community must be in the central list of OBCs; communities only in a state list cannot claim reservation.
UCEED 2027 will be held only in these cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Goa, Guwahati, Hubballi (Hubli), Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Silchar, Solapur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Visakhapatnam.
- If too few candidates choose a city, it may be dropped, and you will get a centre in your second or third preference.
- For operational reasons, IIT Bombay can add or remove a city and allot one that is not among your preferences.
- You must arrange your own travel to the allotted centre.
| Candidate | Late fee (added to regular fee) |
|---|---|
| Indian nationals; OCI/PIO card issued before 4 Mar 2021 | ₹500 |
| Foreign nationals, including OCI/PIO card issued on or after 4 Mar 2021 | US$ 50 (₹4,800) |
The late fee applies to registrations after 31 October 2026 and until 5 PM on 6 November 2026. Dollar fees are converted at the rate on 1 October 2026, US$ 1 = ₹96. Bank service charges are extra.
- All parts of your Class XII (or equivalent) exam must be completed by the date of the B.Des application (15 March – 12 April 2027). If your board exam falls after that, email uceed@iitb.ac.in in advance.
- Proof of having passed with the required eligibility must reach the admitting institute by 30 September 2027.
- If your board gives only letter grades and the grade sheet does not show the passing grade, get a certificate from the board stating it and upload it with the grade sheet.
- All uploaded documents and information are subject to verification at later stages. Your candidature is cancelled if anything is found to be false.
- A candidate who uses a false or incorrect document to claim reservation is excluded from all admission processes, and an existing admission stands cancelled.
- In matters not covered in the brochure, the decision of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee (UCI) is final and binding.
- In case of any dispute, only the Bombay High Court has jurisdiction.
- Appearing in UCEED or getting a rank does not guarantee a B.Des seat; UCEED and B.Des admission are two separate activities.
As of today, the number of days left for UCEED registration 2027 is 24 days without a late fee. With a late fee, you will have an extra 30 days.
UCEED official brochure was released on 1 October 2027 on the official website. Click the link below to download the UCEED 2027 information brochure directly.
Class XII students of 2027 must upload a certificate in the Appendix 1 format, signed by the Principal, Vice Principal, or an authorised board official. It must state:
- That you are enrolled in Class XII or a diploma, with the name of the school, college, or board.
- Your stream.
- Your status: Either currently in the final year or having appeared in the final exam but with a backlog and unable to produce a course completion certificate yet.
It also needs a date, the office seal, and a recent attested passport-size photograph. Upload it as a PDF.
| Candidate type | How treated | Identity documents |
|---|---|---|
| OCI/PIO card issued before 4 Mar 2021 | Considered in the OPEN category; no EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST reservation | Valid passport and OCI/PIO card |
| OCI/PIO card issued on or after 4 Mar 2021, and other foreign nationals | Supernumerary seats, capped at 10% of seats in each programme | Citizenship certificate or foreign passport, plus OCI/PIO card where applicable |
Foreign nationals must hold an All India Rank and meet OPEN category criteria. Their seats are allotted after Indian candidates in the same round.
IIT Bombay defines appearance as the board declaring the result for that year, whether or not the exam was actually held. A candidate whose result is withheld is still treated as having appeared.
- If your board declared its 2024-25 results on or after 30 September 2025, 2025 Class XII students of that board are still eligible.
- If the board declared results before that date and only your result was withheld, you are not eligible.
The UCEED 2027 admit card is generated from your registration data. It will show your name, UCEED registration ID, roll number, date of birth, category, photograph, signature, exam schedule, and centre details. Enter these exactly as in your certificates.
Two further rules: the category you enter is final, and the UCEED scorecard cannot be used as proof of date of birth, category, or disability status.
You can connect with the official authorities for UCEED registration queries at the below-mentioned contact details.
