Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) University has opened 87 seats for the Mumbai Campus and 16 seats for Off-Campuses in various Ph.D. Programmes. The admission deadline for PhD programs has been extended till December 24, 2024.

TISS University PhD Admission 2024-25 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates clearing UGC-NET 2024 in any three categories are eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. programmes.
- Admission to Ph.D. with JRF and appointment as assistant professor.
- Admission to Ph.D. without JRF and appointment as assistant professor.
- Admission to Ph.D. only without JRF or appointment as assistant professor.
- Candidates having valid JRF before 2024 are also eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.
- Students who have cleared only NET before 2024 are not eligible to apply for any Ph.D. programmes.
TISS University PhD Admission 2024-25 Selection Criteria
- For candidates without JRF (UGC-NET), 70% weightage will be given to their NET score and 30% weightage to their performance in the personal interview.
- For students with valid JRF, the selection will be based on their performance in the interview only.
- For candidates with valid JRF not selected based on their performance in the personal interview, 70% weightage will be given to their NET score and 30% weightage to their performance in the personal interview.
- Candidates have to upload a research paper on their proposed topic. The interview discussion will be focused on their research topic.
