SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, will host its third international conference, "Antimicrobial Resistance, Novel Drug Discovery, and Vaccine Development: Challenges and Opportunities," from March 18 to 20, 2024, to tackle global concerns.

SRM University Hosts Third Global Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance

New Delhi: SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, is hosting its third international conference, "Antimicrobial Resistance, Novel Drug Discovery, and Vaccine Development: Challenges and Opportunities," from March 18 to 20, 2024.

The conference by SRM University Sonepat is being conducted at the esteemed India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, the Hon'ble Governor of Haryana, will grace the conference inauguration. Registration for the conference is now open.

This significant event, organised by SRM University Delhi-NCR, aims to tackle global concerns surrounding Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the development of innovative therapeutic solutions. Recognised for its dedication to academic excellence and pioneering research, SRM University Delhi-NCR continues its legacy of fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among leading experts in the field.

The inaugural ceremony on March 18, 2024, will feature distinguished personalities, including Prof. Ada Yonath, Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, Israel, as the guest of honour, and Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Hon'ble Chancellor, SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, who will preside over the event. 

The conference will commence with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice Chancellor of SRM University Delhi-NCR. Prof. V. Samuel Raj, the Organizing Secretary and Director of the Centre for Drug Design and Development (C4D), will introduce the conference's theme and deliver a vote of thanks.

Esteemed speakers will deliver keynote addresses, including Prof. Ada Yonath, Nobel Laureate from Israel, and Prof. Sir Tom Blundell from the University of Cambridge, UK, along with Padma Bhusan awardees Prof. G.P. Talwar and Prof. N.K. Ganguly and Padma Shri awardees Prof. V.S. Chauhan and Prof. Syed E. Hasnain.

The conference will explore critical topics such as antimicrobial resistance, novel drug discovery, and vaccine development, with a particular focus on addressing challenges and exploring opportunities in combating infectious diseases. 

Sessions dedicated to multi-drug-resistant pathogens, hospital-acquired infections, and host-pathogen interactions aim to facilitate meaningful discussions and foster collaborations among scientists and researchers worldwide.

Distinguished speakers from around the globe, including luminaries such as Prof. Mark A. Holmes (University of Cambridge, UK), Prof. Vicky Avery (Australia), Dr. Catrin Moore (UK), Dr. Greg Basarab (USA), and Dr. Hagith Yonath (Israel), alongside numerous eminent scientists from India, will contribute their expertise and insights to the conference.
