SOFT CET 2026 registrations are now open for admission to B.Design, M.Design, and PG Diploma programmes at MKSSS’s School of Fashion Technology, Pune. Candidates can apply till May 30, while the entrance exam will be held on June 6 and 7.

SOFT CET 2026 Registration Begins

MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology (SOFT), Pune has opened registrations for SOFT CET 2026. This is your gateway to admission in design programmes at one of India's top fashion institutes. The registration deadline is May 30, 2026 (with late fee). The entrance exam will be held on June 6-7, 2026 in both online and offline modes. You can choose your preferred date and mode. The exam will test your general ability, studio skills, and portfolio through a comprehensive three-part assessment. Merit list will be declared on June 11, 2026, and classes begin on July 8, 2026.

SOFT offers a range of design programmes for aspiring students. The B.Design is a four-year undergraduate degree affiliated with SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, with specializations in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, and Interdisciplinary Design.

The institute also offers a two-year M.Design interdisciplinary postgraduate programme for candidates with a design background, affiliated with SNDT Women’s University. Additionally, students can opt for a two-year PG Diploma in Fashion Design & Merchandising, an autonomous programme aimed at graduates seeking specialized industry-focused training.

For eligibility, candidates applying for B.Design must have passed Class 12 in any stream, including Arts, Commerce, Science, or Home Science, with at least 45% marks and must submit a portfolio.

M.Design applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or Architecture, or a recognized three-year bachelor’s degree, along with a portfolio and statement of purpose. For the PG Diploma programme, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in any discipline along with a portfolio submission.

To apply, candidates need to visit the official SOFT Pune website and complete the SOFT CET enquiry form. After this, an admission counsellor will connect with applicants, following which the registration form link will be shared via email.

Candidates must then fill in the application form, upload a passport-size photograph and scanned signature in JPEG format (up to 2 MB), and pay the registration fee of INR 3,500 to INR 4,000. Once the process is completed, a unique registration number will be generated and sample question papers will be shared with applicants.

The SOFT CET 2026 entrance process includes three stages conducted on the same day, carrying a total of 250 marks. The General Ability Test (GAT) carries 60 marks and will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM in online mode. The Studio Test/Group Discussion will be conducted from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM via Google Meet and carries 140 marks. The final stage is the Personal Interview, which includes portfolio evaluation and statement of purpose assessment, scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for 50 marks. Candidates must note that all three stages are mandatory.

Applicants are advised to complete registration before May 30, 2026, choose their preferred exam date and mode carefully, and prepare a digital portfolio of 4–5 pages in advance. Since no admit card will be issued, candidates must keep their registration number safe and regularly check their email for exam links and important updates.
