SLIET PhD Admission 2024-25 Open; Apply by February 11

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET), Deemed to be University, is inviting applications for the PhD programs for the academic year 2024-25.

The centralized interview/presentation will be held on February 14, 2025, from 10:00 am onwards for candidates with a valid GATE/NET score and who will qualify for the written test. The final results will also be announced on the same day.

The last date for submission of scanned applications through offline mode (through email only) is February 11, 2025.

Candidates have to send the application form, all relevant documents, and the printout of the online deposited applicable application fee in PDF through email phdadmissions@sliet.ac.in.

Additionally, candidates have to inform the same (including their name and the department they applied for) through Whatsapp on 9216781838.

The application fee must be deposited through any online mode in the Saving Bank Account No. 5508622419 of PhD admissions, IFSC Code: CBIN0283105 of Central Bank of India, Longowal.

SLIET PhD Admission Schedule 2024-25

Written Test Venue: Committee Room, Office of Dean (R&C), 1st Floor, Library Block, SLIET, Longowal after submission of original application along with all documents including the printout of the submitted application fee in the Office of Dean (R&C).

SLIET PhD Admission 2024-25 Eligibility Criteria

PhD admissions are open under the following categories:

• Full-time scholars with institute fellowship:
  • Candidates who have qualified GATE/NET during the last 5 years (Year- 2021 onwards) in Engineering/Technology/Sciences/ Humanities & Management.
  • The minimum eligibility requirement is 60% marks in UG and 55% marks in PG.
  • A relaxation of 5% will be granted for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently abled category candidates.
• Full-time scholars without institute fellowship:
  • The eligibility criteria are the same as for the full-time scholars with institute fellowship.
  • For non-GATE and non-NET candidates, it is mandatory to appear for the written test conducted by the institute.
• Part-time scholars:
  • The eligibility criteria are the same as for the full-time scholars with institute fellowship.
  • For non-GATE and non-NET candidates, it is mandatory to appear for the written test conducted by the institute.
• PhD Executive (Part-time) program for working professionals:
  • The companies (private / government), research organizations, and Ministries of Central and State Governments wherein the candidate is presently employed should have a well-established reputation & image.
  • Defence or other Ministries of the Government of India or any other government organizations.
  • Established industrial research and development organizations
  • Autonomous bodies and public undertakings excluding Academic Institutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience (acquired after obtaining the qualifying degree and completed before the start of the semester).
  • The educational qualifications will be the same as required for other PhD categories.
  • However, candidates must fulfill one of the following additional requirements:
    • GATE (qualified during the last 5 years, year - 2021 onwards)
    • UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)
    • Selected through a National level examination conducted by MHRD or its agencies /Institutions such as UGC/ IIT/ IISc. / IISER/ IIIT etc.
    • Selected provisionally for the DST-INSPIRE Fellowship (provisional award letter to be produced).
    • Qualified in written test conducted by SLIET with minimum 50% marks. However, a relaxation of 5% will be given for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently abled category candidates.
    • Candidates need to provide a “No Objection Certificate" issued by his / her organization for the PhD program for Working Professionals and Part-Time candidates.

SLIET PhD Fees 2024-25

The scholar can take up the course work through NPTEL, SWAYAM, or MOOC or assignments based on the course content assigned through a teacher. 8 weeks of NPTEL/SWAYAM/MOOC course would be considered equivalent to 3 credits and 12 weeks of NPTEL/SWAYAM would be considered as 4 credits.
