SIU Pune has begun the second-round Ph.D. admission cycle for January 2026 with PET and interview schedules released.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune has commenced the second round of Ph.D. admissions for its January 2026 intake. Well, online registrations closing on November 23, 2025, candidates must complete the process soon and prepare for the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) scheduled on December 1, 2025. SIU has also released the admit card, result, interview and merit list timelines for the entire admission cycle.

SIU Ph.D. Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for SIU’s Ph.D. programme must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade, while those holding a 4-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% marks are also eligible. A relaxation of 5% in minimum marks is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST and DA categories.
Applicants who have qualified NET, CSIR-NET, GATE or hold an M.Phil degree are exempted from the PET. The final selection process considers the PET score, followed by Personal Interaction, along with the applicant’s Statement of Purpose, research proposal, and overall academic record.
SIU Ph.D. Admission 2026 Selection Process
The Symbiosis International University Ph.D. selection process begins with the submission of the online application, followed by the PET examination for candidates who are not exempted. Those who qualify are invited for a Personal Interaction (PI), which is conducted through video conferencing.
During evaluation, the university thoroughly reviews the candidate’s research proposal, Statement of Purpose (SOP) and overall academic performance. Based on these components, SIU releases the merit list, after which shortlisted candidates must complete the fee payment to confirm their admission.
Those qualifying must attend the scheduled Personal Interaction session online. Applicants are advised to keep their research proposal, SOP, and necessary documents ready for the evaluation.
