Sikkim University, Gangtok, has released the official notification for admission to PhD programmes (Second Cycle) for the academic session 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online from January 1 to January 20, 2026 (till midnight) through the university’s admission portal.

The application fee is set at ₹1000 for the General category, ₹750 for the OBC and EWS, and ₹500 for SC, ST, and Divyang (PwD) candidates.
Sikkim University PhD Admission Schedule 2026
Online registration begins on January 1, 2026, and the last date to submit applications is January 20, 2026. Interviews are scheduled to be held between January 27 and 28, 2026, followed by the declaration of provisional merit lists on February 4, 2026.

Sikkim University PhD 2026 - Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must possess a valid UGC-NET score, including CSIR-NET, or equivalent national-level qualifications such as GATE, CEED, ICMR-NET, DBT-NET, or ICAR-NET. The selection process will be based on NET score (70%) and a departmental interview (30%). Interviews will be conducted by the respective departments after scrutiny of applications.
