Sharda University, Greater Noida, has officially begun the application process for its PhD programme for the January 2026 session. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until December 31, 2025. The admission cycle includes an online entrance examination scheduled for January 17, 2026, followed by interviews from January 27 to 30, 2026. The final results will be declared on February 7, 2026.

Candidates must hold a PG degree with a minimum of 55% marks. Reserved category applicants are eligible for a 5% relaxation, provided they meet a minimum of 50%. Applicants who have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree with research must have secured 75% marks or equivalent, along with at least one research paper published or accepted in SCI, SCOPUS, WoS, or PubMed-indexed journals.

Candidates holding valid NET, GATE, SET, UET scores or equivalent national-level qualifications are exempted from the written test, but must appear for the interview. M.Phil. degree holders from UGC-approved universities also fall under the same exemption category.

The online entrance test will comprise 70 multiple-choice questions, including 50 questions on the core subject and 20 on research aptitude. This will be followed by a 30-mark interview, while candidates exempted from the written test will be evaluated solely through a 100-mark interview. Selection will be based strictly on merit and seat availability across various departments.

The university has clarified that coursework classes for the first semester will be held physically on weekends, whereas full-time and part-time scholars will attend sessions in physical and blended modes, respectively. Eligible full-time scholars may also receive fellowships as per university norms.

Applications can be submitted online through the university’s official website, and the application fee of ₹1500 can be paid digitally or via a demand draft.
