The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has opened the Spot Round of Admission 2026-27 for its Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes. Candidates can apply on the official portal at rgipt.ac.in.
The spot round has been announced against seats that remained vacant after earlier counselling rounds. Registration is open on the RGIPT admissions portal from August 4, 2026.
RGIPT is an Institute of National Importance set up under an Act of Parliament in 2007. It runs campuses at Amethi (Jais), Bengaluru and Sivasagar.

Who Is Eligible for the RGIPT Spot Round?
Eligibility for the spot round depends on the programme chosen by the candidate. Each programme has its own qualifying entrance exam and academic requirement.
BTech Programme
Candidates must hold a valid JEE Advanced 2026 rank. They must also have secured a minimum of 60 per cent in Class 12. The Class 12 bar is 55 per cent for SC, ST and PwD categories.
MBA Programme
Candidates need a graduation degree with at least 60 per cent aggregate marks. A valid CAT, CMAT, XAT, MAT or GMAT score is also required.
BBA and MSc Programmes
Eligibility follows the RGIPT norms defined for each programme. Applicants should read the detailed brochure on the portal before starting the form.
