PTU Pondicherry ME/MTech and PhD Admission 2025 Open; Apply by March 31

Pondicherry Technological University is inviting applications for ME/MTech and PhD programs for the 2025 session under the AICTE Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) scheme. Admissions at PTU Pondicherry are open only to polytechnic teachers from AICTE-approved institutions and they are eligible to apply for both programs.

The last date for submitting the online application is March 31, 2025. The non-refundable application fee is INR 1,700 for General/OBC candidates and INR 850 for ST/SC/PwD and Female candidates. While applying for the program, candidates will have the option to select up to 3 QIP Institutes / Departments in order of preference to pursue the program.

PTU Pondicherry ME/MTech and PhD Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for admission to ME/MTech and PhD programs under the QIP scheme is as follows:

• ME/M.Tech: Full-time regular/permanent faculty members of AICTE-approved Polytechnic (Diploma) institutes having
  • One year of teaching experience at polytechnic-level institutes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch.
• PhD in Engineering/Management: Full-time regular/permanent faculty members of AICTE approved Degree / Diploma level institutes having
  • Three years of teaching experience at polytechnic/graduate-level institutes.
  • A Master’s degree in the appropriate branch.

Note: In addition to the above minimum eligibility, the criteria of the respective QIP Centre / Institute must be fulfilled for admission to ME/MTech and PhD programs.

PTU Pondicherry ME/MTech and PhD Scholarship 2025

Candidates seeking admission to ME/MTech and PhD programs at PTU Pondicherry under the QIP scheme will be offered scholarships from AICTE. The details are as follows:

The program duration for ME/MTech will be 2 years and for PhD will be 3 years under the QIP scheme. There is no provision for extension in the programs.
