At the VSSUT's 15th Annual Convocation, President Murmu urged students to make every effort for excellence, not just for personal gain but also for the nation's progress.

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu graced the 15th Annual Convocation at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology in Burla, situated in Odisha's Sambalpur district. The event celebrated the graduating students' accomplishments, marking a significant milestone.
Speaking on this occasion at VSSUT, President Droupadi Murmu emphasised the contribution of engineers and technocrats in India's journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047. She urged students to aspire to be a medium for positive transformation, ambassadors of diversity, and integrity proponents.
She further added that the Indian government aims to make India a developed nation by 2047 and that technology can accelerate development. She stated, "Therefore, technocrats and engineers will play an important role in making India a developed nation."
President Murmu Keynote Address at Convocation Ceremony
At the VSSUT's 15th Annual Convocation, President Murmu urged students to make every effort for excellence, not just for personal gain but also for the nation's progress. "I urged upon the students to strive to become agents of positive change, advocates of diversity and champions of integrity," the President said.
She highlighted that as engineers, students hold the key to progress, shaping the future. Their role as innovators acts as a link between imagination and reality. Emphasising the rapidly evolving world, she emphasised that the skills and knowledge gained in this institution form the cornerstone upon which their futures and the nation's future will depend.
President Murmu expressed satisfaction with VSSUT students' creation of a distinctive Satellite Launch Vehicle, earning praise from ISRO. A Memorandum of Understanding has been formalised between the university and ISRO to advance ongoing research in this field. She highlighted establishing an innovation and incubation center on the university campus.
She appreciated the students and faculty of the university for their creative work. Stating that one should not forget traditional values while embracing technical advancements, the President said the National Education Policy - 2020 focuses on mother tongue, tradition and culture. She said the country's development should be inclusive and dedicated to the entirety of humanity. "We must always remember the values inherent in our culture to make development humanity-friendly," Murmu said.
