Pondicherry University has decided to conduct term-end semester examinations for affiliated college students via "Open Book Mode”. The necessary instructions and study materials have been allocated to the students of the university.
Referring to students' queries related to the conduction of examinations, Pondicherry University stated that the university decided to conduct examinations for students under the "Open Book Examination" mode.
Equal opportunities will be provided to students who will appear for online, offline, and blended modes of examinations.
The exams will be conducted under the Guidelines provided by UGC on "Examinations and Academic Calendar", issued in April 2020. The decision was made to ensure the safety of the students and to prevent COVID-19 dangers during the term-end examination.

The Chief Superintendents of the university are to ensure that students don’t exchange their study materials and notes with others during or before the examination. Covid-19 safety guidelines are to be followed by the students and teachers throughout the exam.
Pondicherry University Examinations 2020: Guidelines and Details
Students who will be appearing for term end examinations are allocated with study materials. Candidates are allowed to refer to books, notes, and study materials to answer the questions. Students have to answer the questions from their understanding of the concept. Copying the answers from different sources is not permitted.

The other conditions like the pattern of the questions paper for respective programs, duration, and examination guidelines will remain the same. Students need to write their answers in an A4 sheet with a Black Pen.
The scanned answer sheets will further be sent to the respective colleges within 30 minutes after the scheduled time of examinations. The end semester examinations will most probably begin from September 21, 2020. The details are yet to be announced by the authorities.
