Pondicherry University Signs an MoU with the Chartered Accountants Body in London

New Delhi: An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Department of Commerce, School of Management, Pondicherry University, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), London to work together on research, education, and training. 


 

According to a media release, the entities will work together to launch learning and development (L&D) initiatives by providing learning resources, establishing academic collaboration, joint research, and assisting student training and development. The MoU was signed at the direction of University Vice-Chancellor Professor Gurmeet Singh.

K Tharanikkarasu, Director of Studies at Pondicherry University, spoke at the contract signing ceremony and emphasized the significance of developing a blended curriculum with the ACCA academic programme to satisfy the demands of the National Education Policy (NEP). 

Both institutions would gain from this, and the relationship would be strengthened. To address the needs of international employers, Khush Ahuja, Head of Business Development - India, ACCA, emphasized the necessity of introducing coherence to the curricula of both schools. 

He also emphasized the enormous disparity between the need and supply of accounting professionals in the global context and how these accountants' jobs are evolving in the digitalized world.

Saravana Kumar, Head of ACCA South India, discussed the benefits of studying ACCA cooperatively and the curriculum's quality improvement processes. Amaresh Samantaraya, the university registrar; A. Subramanyam Raju, the dean of international relations; P. Natarajan, the head of the department of commerce; and other university representatives attended the ceremony.

According to this Memorandum of Understanding, the two universities will work together to launch learning and development projects by offering learning materials, developing academic partnerships, conducting collaborative research, and assisting with student training and development.
