PEC Chandigarh Releases List of Candidates for PhD Admission 2025; Interview on December 12

Punjab Engineering College University of Technology (PEC), Chandigarh has released the list of candidates for its PhD January 2025 admission. The interview and document verification is scheduled for December 12, 2024.

The result will be declared on December 23, 2024 and the selected candidates must pay the fee online between December 23 to December 27, 2024.

The applicant for admission to the PhD programme shall be classified under any one of the following categories:

• Based on the time devoted to the PhD programme

PEC Chandigarh PhD Entrance Test

All eligible Non-GATE/ Non-NET-JRF candidates are required to appear in an objective type (MCQ) written test of PG level comprising two parts as mentioned below:

Paper-I:

• Research Methodology: 30 marks
• Duration: 30 minutes

Paper-II:

• Area of Research/ Specialization: 60 marks
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Qualifying marks: 50 % of total marks

PEC Chandigarh PhD Selection Process

• After the entrance test, a list of the qualified candidates will be uploaded on the Institute website by the Admission Office.
• All qualified candidates will be required to appear before the respective DRC for an interview/interaction comprising a brief presentation on the related research area.
• DRC will evaluate the candidates and award the marks out of 30 (10 marks each for presentation, interview, and academic achievements).
• The merit list will be prepared as per the preference below: -
  • Candidates with valid GATE/UGC NET-JRF (100 marks)
  • Candidates appeared for the written test (30 marks)

PEC Chandigarh PhD Documents Required

Eligible candidates must bring the below documents for admission to PhD program at PEC Chandigarh:

• Printout of the Registration form
• Valid GATE score card/ UGC-NET (JRF) Certificate
• Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms (Aadhaar Card)
• Original Birth certificate issued by competent authority/Class X (High School)
• Board Certificate as proof of date of birth
• Original Marks sheet of class XII
• Original Grade/Marks sheets of qualifying examination for all semesters
• Original Degree/ Provisional certificate
• Original Certificate of category (SC/ST), if applicable, as per Government of India, issued by the competent authority
• Original Migration certificate of last Institute/University attended
• Three colour passport-size photographs
• Original Conduct/ Character Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended
• Original Course completion certificate from the Head of the University/Institute in case result is awaited
• Persons with Disabilities certificate (if applicable)
• Undertaking if applicable
• Sponsorship/NOC Certificate (wherever applicable)
• Master's Thesis/ Project Report

PEC Chandigarh PhD Fee Structure

Note(s):

• Total Payable at the time of admission (for full-time regular students): INR 33,500/-
• Total Payable at the time of admission (for part-time students): INR 44,500/-

Scholarship positions are available for only candidates having valid GATE/NET-JRF scores as well as for those candidates who did M.E./ M.Tech. with GATE and were getting a GATE Scholarship. Candidates are required to produce proof of getting a scholarship during their M.Tech at the time of document verification in their respective departments.
