OJEE has announced the Second Phase of Upgradation for BAMS/BHMS courses based on the NEET UG 2024 percentile criteria. Candidates not willing to participate in upgradation must select the FREEZE option by November 20, 2024, 5 PM.
The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Committee has announced the 2nd Phase Upgradation for BAMS and BHMS courses for the academic year 2024-25. This decision comes after the reduction in the minimum qualifying percentile for NEET UG 2024 and AIAPGET 2024, as per the directive from the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Ministry of Ayush.
Key Highlights of the Notification
- Reason for Upgradation:
- The relaxation in NEET UG 2024 percentile criteria and the extended admission cut-off date (now 20th December 2024) prompted the re-evaluation of available seats.
- Several priority-choice seats remain vacant after physical reporting in previous rounds.
- Eligibility for 2nd Phase Upgradation:
- Candidates who opted for the FLOAT option during earlier rounds of counseling and reported to their allotted colleges are eligible to participate in the upgradation process.
- Candidate Options:
- FLOAT Option: Candidates who wish to participate in the upgradation process must retain their FLOAT status. If upgraded, they must join the new college, and they cannot return to their previous allotment.
- FREEZE Option: Candidates satisfied with their current allotment and not wishing to participate in upgradation must select the FREEZE option by 20th November 2024, 5 PM.
- Post-Upgradation Reporting:
- Candidates upgraded to a new college must report to the newly allotted institution. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of their admission.
- Stray Vacancy Counseling:
- The stray vacancy round will commence after the completion of the 2nd phase upgradation. Fresh registrations for this round will be opened, offering additional opportunities to candidates under the revised percentile criteria.
