The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Mains session 2 question papers TODAY, April 9, for all shifts.

  • As per the tentative dates shared by NTA on their official X platform, the provisional answer key and response sheets will be released by April 11 ( tentative).
  • The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 result is expected to be out by April 20, 2026. Candidates can check all updates at the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
NTA JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Question Papers

Candidates can download the provisional answer key and response sheet by using their application number and passwords.

The response sheet shows the answers you marked during the exam. Whereas the answer key is the document listing the official correct answers for all the questions.

NTA, in their press release, mentioned that JEE Main 2026 Session 2 was conducted at 566 centres across 304 cities in India and 14 abroad.

B.E./B. Tech had around 11.06 lakh students in India and 4,229 from abroad, with about 93% attendance. B.Arch./B. Planning had 54,953 students in India and 270 from abroad, with around 73% attendance.

JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key Live Updates: JEE Main answer key 2026 session 2

The JEE Main answer key 2026 session 2 will be released two times, i.e., the Provisional answer key and Final answer key. The provisional answer key will be released tomorrow, i.e., April 11, whereas the JEE Main final answer key will be released along with the JEE Main session 2 results. 

  • Provisional Answer Key: It is released by NTA shortly after the exam, allowing candidates to review answers, estimate scores, and raise challenges/objections by paying a fee.
  • Final Answer Key: The corrected and final official answer key is released by NTA after reviewing all candidate objections, which is used to calculate the final scores, ranks, and results

As per the previous year or session 1 trend, the JEE Main answer key challenge window will be live for 3 days from 11 April to 13 April. Students will be able to challenge the answer key if, according to them, there is any error in the key. Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, with their Application number and Password. 

In the January session of JEE Main 2026, the answer key challenge window was active for 3 days from February 4 to February 6 as given below:

JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key Live Updates: JEE Main session 2 answer key release date

NTA is expected to release the JEE Main session 2 answer key tomorrow, i.e., on April 11. However, the date is tentative and can be changed if any administrative issue arises.  NTA has notified that the answer key will be provisional, and any student can challenge the answer key with a non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 per question.

No, in any case, the answer key challenge fee will not be refunded, as it has already been clarified by the NTA that the answer key challenge fee is non-refundable.

JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key Live Updates: Will I be notified if my challenge of the answer key is accepted?

No, you will not get notified by the NTA even if your challenge of the answer key is accepted. Based on the challenges, the answer key will be verified, and after that, NTA will release the final answer key. After the settlement of the challenges, the key will be final, and no changes in that will be allowed.

If the challeneg of the answer key is found to be correct, then the answer key will be revised and applied to the responses of all the candidates. After that, the result will be declared based on the final answer key.

No, as per the NTA guidelines, the candidates can pay the answer key challenge fee, i.e., Rs. 200/question, only using the Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. The answer key challenge fee will not be accepted through any other mode.
