New Delhi: NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME) hosted Convocation 2023 for Mumbai and Shirpur campus graduating students. Several distinguished academics, famous guests, and proud parents took part in the occasion.
This two-day convocation ceremony was held in Mukesh R. Patel Auditorium at NMIMS Mumbai on August 18 and 19, 2023, respectively. Mr. D. Shivakumar, Operating Partner at Advent Global Private Equity, served as the illustrious Chief Guest on August 19, 2023.
In addition to this, Dr Krishnaswami Srihari, Dean of Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at the State University of New York, Binghamton University, graced the event as the Chief Guest on August 18, 2023.
Dr Alka Mahajan, Dean of MPSTME Mumbai, Dr Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Meena Chintamaneni, Nominee of the Chancellor, and Dr Jayant Gandhi all attended the convocation ceremony, adding even more significance to the already auspicious occasion.
The alumni of the Mumbai and Shirpur campuses of the MPSTME received their diplomas during the two-day convocation ceremony. During the event, a total of 770 graduates and 9 PhD scholars from both campuses received their degrees.
The ceremony was a lavish celebration that represented the conclusion of the student's efforts, commitment, and accomplishments. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, singing of Saraswati Vandana, and an invocation on both days as the schedule was the same.

The excited students proudly displayed their academic achievements and commitment to their beloved institution as they made their way across the stage in a procession. The students' remarkable achievements were highlighted by the degree awards and prizes given out.
Along with the awarding of degrees, students with outstanding grades, scholarships, and creative projects received recognition. Additionally, the top staff and teachers received special honours and praise for their accomplishments.
Dr. Alka Mahajan gave a full review of the academic year 2022–2023 in her presentation. The program was declared to have been successfully completed by 9 PhD students, 773 B.Tech and BTI students, 20 M.Tech students, 55 MCA students, and 547 MBA Tech students.
Addressing the convocation and welcoming the honourable chief guests, Dr Meena Chintamaneni, Pro Vice Chancellor of NMIMS, said, "It is an exciting time for NMIMS and all of the graduates. I want to express my gratitude for the efforts made throughout the years by all of our kids and their parents”.
“Every group of our graduates is unique, and they have a significant place in the history of the company. They start representing NMIMS the moment they enrol at the school. Dear graduates, you will carry on NMIMS's rich tradition of principles, beliefs, and vision, as well as the ongoing attempts to put these values and vision into practice”, she added.
As the convocation ceremony came to an end, the National Anthem was performed, ending the moment of joy and accomplishment for everyone present. To foster and support the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers is the mission of NMIMS University. This goal was perfectly captured in the event.
