NIT Warangal PhD admission is open for the July 2025 session. The names of the shortlisted candidates for written test or interview will be declared on April 25, 2025. Read the article for more details.

NIT Warangal PhD Admission 2025

NIT Warangal Is inviting applications for admission to its PhD program for the July-2025 Session. The last date for submission of the application form is April 18, 2025. The written test/interview is scheduled from May 12, 2025, to May 16, 2025.

NIT Warangal PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for different programs are as follows.

Engineering & Technology

  • Full-time candidates: GATE is mandatory.
  • General/OBC-NCL/EWS must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG & PG (5% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Alternative: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology must have a valid GATE score (not mandatory for part-time) with:
    • GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL: 65% marks or 7.0 CGPA.
    • SC/ST/PwD: 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
  • Some departments (Biotechnology, Chemical, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering) accept M.Sc. candidates with GATE/UGC-CSIR-NET/GPAT qualification.

Science Disciplines (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry)

  • General/OBC-NCL/EWS must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at UG & PG (5% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD).
  • GATE/UGC-CSIR-NET/GPAT is required (not mandatory for part-time work).

Humanities (English)

  • General/OBC-NCL/EWS must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at UG & PG (5% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD).
  • GATE/UGC-NET is required (not mandatory for part-time work).

Management Studies

  • General/OBC-NCL/EWS must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at UG & PG (5% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD)
  • Master’s degree in Management/Social Sciences/Commerce, 2-year PGDM, M.Tech (any specialization), MSc Statistics, CA/CS/ICWA.
  • CAT/UGC-NET/GMAT/GRE/GATE/CSIR-NET (not mandatory for part-time).

NIT Warangal PhD Admission 2025: Required Documents 

  • SSC/Class X certificate as proof of date of birth.
  • Intermediate/(10+2)/Class XII certificate.
  • Provisional/Degree certificates and mark sheets for both UG and PG (if applicable).
  • Caste certificate (for SC/ST candidates).
  • EWS certificate 
  • OBC-NCL certificate 
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) 
  • A relieving certificate from the employer (if applicable).
  • Recent passport-size photograph 
  • Valid Grade/Rank Card for GATE, UGC-NET, INSPIRE, GPAT, CAT, GMAT, or CSIR (as applicable).
  • Fee payment receipt with transaction details.
  • Statement of Proposal (Research Proposal).
  • Additional documents, if applicable (e.g., list of publications).

Note: Selected candidates must produce an updated OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS certificate issued on or after April 1, 2025, at the time of physical reporting.
