For admission to the MS Research programme at NIT Trichy, candidates are required to have a B.E. / B.Tech. degree to have 60% or above of aggregate marks, or equivalently, CGPA 6.5 or above in case of GEN/GEN-EWS/OBCNCL, and 55% or above of aggregate

NIT Trichy Admission 2025 Open for MS Research

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy is accepting applications for full-time and part-time Master of Science (MS) by Research. Interested candidates must apply by December 22, 2025, till 11:59 PM at nit.edu. The interview has been tentatively scheduled on January 9 and 10, 2026.

The NIT Trichy offers an MS Research program in various departments of including Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Energy and Environment, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, and Physics (Non-Destructive Testing).

Candidates belonging to the GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL category must pay the application fee of INR 1000 per department, and INR 500 per department for SC/ST/PwD applicants. An applicant can choose up to three departments if he/she is eligible.

If applied to 2 departments, the application fee will be 2 x (Application fee per department according to category). E.g., if GEN/ GEN-EWS /OBC-NCL: Rs . 2000 (2 x Rs . 1000); if SC/ST/PwD: Rs . 1000 (2 x Rs . 500). The application fee is non-refundable.
