NIT Surathkal is accepting applications for self-financed M.Tech, M.Sc, and MBA programs until May 25, 2026 (online) and May 29, 2026 (hard copy). Selection Test and Interview will be held offline on June 22-24, 2026 at the institute campus.

NIT Surathkal has opened admissions for full-time self-financed postgraduate programs including M.Tech, M.Sc, and MBA for the 2026-27 academic year. Interested candidates can apply online through the official portal at nitk.ac.in until May 25, 2026 (Monday), with hard copies to reach the institute by May 29, 2026 (Friday).

The selection process comprises a written aptitude test (50% weightage) and technical interview (50% weightage), scheduled for June 22-24, 2026 in offline mode at NITK Surathkal campus.

M.Tech admission requires a qualifying degree with minimum CGPA 6.5 (or 60% aggregate marks), while SC/ST/PwD candidates need CGPA 6.0 (or 55% marks).

M.Sc Chemistry and Physics programs require B.Sc with respective subjects and CGPA 6.5 (or 60% marks). MBA candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with CGPA 5.5 (or 50% marks), with relaxed criteria for SC/ST/PwD at CGPA 5.0 (or 45% marks).

Selection is based on written aptitude test performance (50% weightage) and technical interview comprising technical presentation and subject knowledge assessment (25% weightage each).

Candidates called for interview must bring original marks cards of all semesters, date of birth certificate, degree certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), GATE/NET score card, and PWD certificate (if applicable).

After selection, candidates must submit admission offer letter, original marks cards with duplicate copies, degree certificate, medical certificate, transfer certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhar card, and migration certificate.

Provisional admission is granted subject to meeting eligibility requirements by September 30, 2026. Selected candidates must pay fees online between July 13-17, 2026, with physical reporting and document verification dates to be announced later.

Candidates must register online on the IRIS portal and complete the application form with required documents. The application fee (Rs 500 for OC/OBC, Rs 150 for SC/ST/PwD) must be paid online by May 25, 2026.

Hard copies of the completed application form with payment receipt and all necessary documents must be sent to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), NITK Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, Mangalore-575025, Karnataka, reaching by May 29, 2026. Incomplete or late applications will be rejected summarily without correspondence.
