NIT Sikkim has published the fee structure for the 2026-27 academic session, including course-wise tuition fees and concession details for eligible students.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim has announced the comprehensive fee structure for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs for the 2026-2027 academic session. Students can now plan their finances accordingly based on their chosen program. The fee structure includes tuition fees, institute fees, laboratory charges, and other academic expenses spread across semesters. Special fee remission and waivers are available for SC/ST/PwD students and economically weaker candidates. Hostel and mess charges are optional and charged separately. This gives aspirants a clear picture of the total cost of studying at NIT Sikkim.

Full tuition fee exemption is available for SC/ST/PwD students at NIT Sikkim. Students belonging to economically weaker families with an annual income below INR 1 lakh are eligible for 100% tuition fee remission, while those with annual family income between INR 1 lakh and INR 5 lakhs can avail of two-thirds tuition fee remission. Eligible candidates may also receive hostel fee concessions, while mess charges remain optional and will depend on individual usage.
Apart from academic fees, students choosing hostel accommodation will need to pay INR 7,500 per semester, while mess charges are INR 21,000 per semester. Those opting for the university bus service will have to pay INR 1,920 per semester. Students should also keep in mind that certain one-time charges such as admission fee, ID card fee, student welfare fund, alumni fee, and convocation fee will be applicable. In addition, refundable caution deposits for institute, hostel, and mess facilities will also be charged at the time of admission.
For M.Tech and M.Sc programs, the tuition fee for general category students is INR 35,000 per semester, while SC/ST students are exempt from paying tuition fees. The institute fee is INR 1,276 per semester. Overall, the total semester fee works out to INR 44,045 for general category students and INR 9,045 for SC/ST students, excluding hostel and mess charges.
For Ph.D scholars, the tuition fee for general category students is INR 7,500 per semester, while SC/ST students are eligible for a full tuition fee waiver. Institute charges are INR 1,340 per semester, bringing the total semester fee to INR 17,519 for general category students and INR 10,019 for SC/ST students. Additionally, students will have to pay a one-time thesis evaluation fee of INR 10,000, while hostel and mess expenses will be charged separately.
