New Delhi: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, is inviting applications for admission to its Ph.D. program under the esteemed Visvesvaraya Scheme. Aspirants can check and apply through the official website eapplication.nitrkl.ac.in.

The Ph.D. program under the Visvesvaraya Scheme at NIT Rourkela is designed to encourage multidisciplinary research. Aspirants are requested to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the program.

NIT Rourkela Ph.D. Program Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Below are the eligibility criteria that aspirants should know before applying:

• A Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant research area, coupled with a Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology, is required, with a first-class or a minimum of 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying examination.
• Aspirants who are B Tech/B.E./BSc Engg. (4 year)/MCA/M. Sc. with a CGPA of 8.5 and above on a 10-point scale or 80% aggregate from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) need to be GATE qualified. The total number of credit scores to be cleared is 24 before the comprehensive examination.

Interested candidates after checking the eligibility criteria can submit their application form through the official website http://eapplication.nitrkl.ac.in. Candidates need to pay the refundable Application Fee of INR 1000/- (INR 500/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) through SBI Collect only. No other mode of payment is acceptable. As per the official notification, Record the SB Collect Reference Number. The application fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances. Complete the online application form and input the SB Collect Reference Number into the designated column in the Application Fee section, then proceed to submit the form.
