NIT Durgapur invites candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program for the even-semester through walk-in mode.

National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, has opened admission for candidates to Ph.D. 2024-25. The admission process will be conducted on campus through walk-in mode.

Eligible candidates can take admission to Ph.D. programmes under four categories:

Category A: Regular Research Scholar with Institute Fellowship
Category B: Regular Research Scholar with financial support from government sponsoring agencies - DST, UGC, CSIR, DAE, NBHM, DST-INSPIRE
Category C: Regular Research Scholar working in Externally Funded Sponsored Projects at NIT Durgapur
Category K: Regular Research Scholar without Institute Fellowship (Self-financed)

The candidates will be selected based on the National Level Test conducted by NIT Durgapur, followed by Viva. Candidates must report to the Department/Centre at 9:00 a.m.

Candidates have to bring one passport-sized colour photograph, the original documents, and a set of self-attested copies of all the required documents.

Candidates have to pay the application fee of INR 500 for OPEN/OBC/EWS category and INR 250 for SC/ST/PwD category.

Candidates have to report to their respective Department/Centre for the test with the filled application form, application fee receipt, and all the required documents for verification. Candidates selected have to submit the migration certificate (in original) during admission at the NIT Durgapur Campus.
