NIT Delhi MTech SFS 2026 Application Deadline Extended to May 29

As per an official notice (F. No. NITD/ACAD/16/2025-26/170) issued on May 15, 2026 by the Dean (Academic), National Institute of Technology Delhi, the last date for registration to the Self-Financed (SFS) M.Tech programmes for the academic year 2026-27 has been extended to May 29, 2026 up to 4:00 PM. The original deadline, as set in the initial Admission Notice dated April 15, 2026, was May 15, 2026. Candidates can apply via the Google Form link available on the institute website at nitdelhi.ac.in.

A key feature of the SFS M.Tech route at NIT Delhi is that no GATE score is required for admission. The institute also explicitly states that there will be no financial assistance or scholarship of any kind for students admitted under this category.

SFS vs GATE Route: Key Difference

NIT Delhi offers M.Tech admissions through two separate routes. The regular route is via GATE score through CCMT counselling, which comes with the possibility of a Teaching Assistantship stipend. The Self-Financed (SFS) route, now open with this extended deadline, requires no GATE score but offers no financial assistance or scholarship of any kind from the institute. Students must self-fund the entire programme cost.

Keep an Eye On

After the May 29 deadline, NIT Delhi will release the entrance test schedule and selection process details on nitdelhi.ac.in. Candidates should check the institute website regularly for admit card release, exam dates, and merit list announcements.
