NIT Calicut has started PhD Admission 2026–27 for the Monsoon session. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website nitc.ac.in till April 1, 2026.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut has started the application process for PhD Admission 2026–27 for the Monsoon Semester. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website nitc.ac.in. The last date to submit the completed application form is April 1, 2026, till 5 PM.

NIT Calicut offers a PhD programme, with admission based on a valid UGC NET score, followed by a personal interview.

NIT Calicut PhD 2026 Registration Schemes

The institute has invited applications for admission to doctoral programmes under multiple registration schemes. These schemes are designed to accommodate candidates from academic institutions, research organisations, and industry backgrounds.

  • Scheme I: Full-time registration with Institute Fellowship or other Govt. Fellowships like CSIR-UGC JRF/KSCSTE/INSPIRE, etc.
  • Scheme II: Full-time registration under the Self-Sponsored category
  • Scheme III: Full-time registration for candidates sponsored by the industry or other organisations, including Educational Institutions
  • Scheme IV: Internal Registration for regular staff employed at NITC/ Research staff employed in funded projects at NITC
  • Scheme V: External (Part-time) Registration for candidates, from Industry or other organisations, including Educational Institutions, who possess a postgraduate degree
  • Scheme VI: External (Part-time) Registration to Direct PhD programme for candidates working in Industry/R&D Labs/Medical Institutions who do not have a postgraduate degree but have relevant experience in reputed Industry/R&D Labs/Medical Institutions.
