NIT Calicut has announced major expansion of academic programmes starting 2026. New five-year dual degree B.Tech-M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing launched. Three new M.Tech programmes introduced. Admissions through JEE Main.

National Institute of Technology Calicut has announced an expansion and restructuring of its academic programmes from the 2026 academic year, introducing new interdisciplinary courses aligned with emerging industry demands.
The institute will launch a five-year dual degree B.Tech–M.Tech programme in Mathematics and Computing, focused on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and computational techniques. Admission to this programme will be through JEE Main, and students will have the option to exit after four years with a B.Tech degree.
In addition, NIT Calicut has introduced three interdisciplinary M.Tech programmes in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Research and Data Analytics, and High Voltage and Renewable Energy Engineering. The Mechanical Engineering department has also revamped its postgraduate curriculum, renaming programmes to reflect trends such as digitalisation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.

The institute has launched a five-year dual degree B.Tech–M.Tech programme in Mathematics and Computing, focusing on mathematical modelling, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. The programme prepares students for roles such as data scientist, machine learning engineer, quantitative analyst, and software developer, with the flexibility to exit after four years with a B.Tech degree. Admission will be through JEE Main as per the standard engineering process.

In addition, NIT Calicut has introduced three interdisciplinary M.Tech programmes in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Research and Data Analytics, and High Voltage and Renewable Energy Engineering. These programmes cover areas such as supply chain analytics, optimisation, machine learning, renewable energy systems, and advanced power transmission technologies. The institute has also revamped its mechanical engineering postgraduate curriculum, renaming programmes to reflect modern trends like digitalisation, sustainability, AI, IoT, and advanced manufacturing.
These initiatives align with national priorities such as renewable energy expansion and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to equip students with industry-relevant skills for future careers in energy, data analytics, and technology sectors.
