The National Testing Agency (NTA) has concluded the NIFT 2025 entrance exam today, in two shifts—GAT in Shift 1 and CAT in Shift 2. The exam analysis will provide insights into difficulty level, question types, expected cut-off.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFTEE) 2025 entrance exam today, February 9, 2025. NIFTEE 2025 Shift 2 exam has ended at 5.30 PM. This shift comprises the Creative Ability Test (CAT) for B.Des and M.Des. The CAT paper was easy to moderately difficult. NIFT 2025 entrance exam paper analysis and question paper will be uploaded here after the initial feedback from candidates.
NIFT 2025 shift 1 exam was conducted from 9 AM to 11 AM for B.Des and M.Des and 12 Noon for other courses. The overall GAT paper difficulty level was mdoerate. Check the memory-based question paper here.

It is compulsory to carry NIFT admit card 2025 to the exam center. Make siure the photo, signature, QR code, and bar code are clearly visible. Without them, the admit card will be invalid. AADHAAR-Based Biometric Verification
- Candidates must carry their AADHAAR Card for biometric verification.
- Thumb impressions will be recorded multiple times; if mismatches occur, iris verification will be conducted.
- Those without Aadhaar Cards will be verified through alternative means and an Exception Form will be recorded.

Prohibited Items
- Electronic devices, mobile phones, smartwatches, and bags are strictly not allowed.
- Personal belongings must be left outside as there is no storage facility at the centre.

Candidates appearing for NIFTEE 2025 CAT exam reported that the paper was easy to moderate in difficultly.
NTA has ended the NIFTEE 2025 Shift 2 exam for CAT at 5.30 PM. Based on the initial analysis, the paper analysis and question paper will be released soon.
NTA releases the NIFTEE 2025 cutoff as opening and closing ranks after the results. Here are the tentative cutoff ranks for participating campuses based on previous analysis:
- Top NIFT campuses (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore): Rank under 500-700
- Popular NIFT campuses (Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gandhinagar): Rank under 800-1200
- Mid-tier NIFT campuses (Chennai, Bhopal, Raebareli): Rank under 1500-2000
- Reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC): Rank maybe 20-30% lower than the general category cut-offs.
NIFTEE 2025 is conducted in three stages – GAT, CAT, and Situation Test. After clearing GAT, B.Des and M.Des students are required to qualify CAT. Applicants who cleared both the written tests will be eligible for Situation Test followed by Group Discussion/ Personal Interview.
However, GAT is the only selection test for B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech and MFM.
Candidates appearing for NIFT 2025 Creative Ability Test must carry the follwoing:
- A simple transparent Ball Point Pen/ Pencil / Erasers / Ruler in a transparent pouch
- A-4 Transparent Acrylic Board for B.Des./M.Des. candidates
The NIFT 2025 exam duration for GAT paper is 2 hours and for CAT paper is 3 hours for B.Des and M.Des papers.
NTA has released the NIFT 2025 marking scheme. There is no negative marking for wrong answers in CAT paper while in GAT paper 0.25 marks will be deducted for every worng answer.
NTA has started conducting the NIFT 2025 Shift 2 exam at 2.30 PM. This shift will at 5.30 PM. The Creative Ability Test (CAT) paper is conducted for 3 hours.
NTA is conducting the NIFTEE 2025 CAT paper for B.Des and M.Des courses only. The Creative Ability Test is conducted in Pen-Based Test mode.
Candidates across multiple exam centers reported issues with aadhar verification and security check for NIFT 2025 exam. Many candidates has to complete the verification process after the exam.
- CCTV surveillance and jammers will be present in all centres to prevent malpractice.
- Any attempt at unfair means (such as passing chits) will result in strict punitive action and debarment from future NTA exams.
- Candidates must ensure that the question paper on the screen matches their opted subject and medium. Any mismatch should be reported to the invigilator immediately.
NTA will conduct the NIFT 2025 CAT paper in Shift 2, from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM. It will be conducted in the PBT mode.

NTA has officially concluded the NIFT 2025 GAT exam in Shift 1 for all programmes. The analysis and question paper based on initial feedback will be out soon.
NTA released the NIFTEE 2025 marking scheme on the advisory. Here is the marking scheme:
- +1 mark for every correct answer.
- -0.25 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
- No marks for unattempted questions.
- If a question is dropped due to errors, full marks will be awarded to all candidates.
- If multiple correct answers are identified after key challenges, marks will be awarded only to those who selected the correct option as per the revised key.
NTA concludes the NIFTEE 2025 Shift 1 exam for B.Des and M.Des programs at 11 AM. The exam for the other shifts will end at 12 Noon.
