NID DAT Mains 2026 Schedule Out for M.Des @admissions.nid.edu; Studio Test on March 8

The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has released the detailed schedule for the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains 2026 for admission to the Master of Design (M.Des) programme. Candidates shortlisted in the NID DAT Prelims 2026 can now check the studio test and interview schedule on the official NID admissions portal.

As per the official notification, the M.Des DAT Mains Studio Test will be conducted on March 8, 2026 (Sunday). The test will be held in offline mode at designated centres across different cities, depending on the faculty stream and discipline. Candidates applying for Industrial Design and Communication Design disciplines will take the studio test in Ahmedabad, while those in Interdisciplinary Design Studies and IT-Integrated Design will appear in Bengaluru. The studio test for Textile, Apparel and Lifestyle Accessory Design (TALAD) will be conducted in Gandhinagar.

Following the studio test, the M.Des interview round will be conducted between March 21 and April 1, 2026. The interviews will be held in different cities such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Gandhinagar, depending on the selected discipline.

The admit card for the studio test and interview will be available for download from February 24, 2026, at 4 PM. Candidates must carry the admit card and a valid photo ID to the examination centre. The institute has clarified that appearing in both the studio test and interview is mandatory for final admission consideration.

Candidates whose university examinations clash with the scheduled interview dates can request rescheduling by emailing the institute on or before February 23, 2026, along with relevant supporting documents.
