NEET UG 2025 Exam mode might be changed this year. The NEET UG 2025 examination date is expected to be May 5, 2025.

NEET UG 2025 exam is to be conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode. However, there are speculations that NEET UG 2025 Exam mode might be changed. NTA might introduce a hybrid model where question papers will be digitally transmitted to the examination centres but answers will be written on paper. The NEET UG 2025 examination date is expected to be May 4, 2025. Application forms are likely to be released in December 2024. Official dates will be announced soon in the official website of NTA.

NEET UG 2025 Exam Mode and Format

NEET UG 2025 exam mode might be the same as that followed all previous years. There would be totally 200 MCQs in Physics Chemistry and Biology out of which candidates need to answer 180, as follows:

  • Physics: 50 questions (35 in Section A, 15 in Section B; answer 10 in Section B)
  • Chemistry: 50 questions (similar distribution as Physics)
  • Biology: 100 questions, covering Botany and Zoology (70 from Section A and 30 from Section B)

Note

However, there are speculations that NEET UG 2025 Exam mode might be changed. The National Testing Agency, is likely to introduce a hybrid model where question papers will be digitally transmitted to the examination centers, but answers will still be written on paper. A lot of suggestions have been proposed wherein question papers will be digitally delivered to prevent paper leaks and will be released much closer to examination time. In addition, there are suggestions to strengthen the infrastructure of NTA through reducing dependence on external examination centers.

Attempt Limit

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for NEET UG, aligning with the policy followed in previous years. Aspirants can appear for the test as many times as they wish, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria. This ensures equal opportunities for candidates to secure medical seats​

Key Dates

The NEET UG 2025 examination will tentatively be conducted on May 4, 2025. Online registration is likely to commence from December 2024 so that the candidates have sufficient time to complete all formalities including document uploads and payment of fees​​

NEET UG 2025 : Language and Syllabus

The NEET UG 2025 exam will be held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Urdu, hence making it accessible to candidates across the country. The syllabus covers the topics from both the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT curriculum in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minor updates made by the National Medical Commission​
 

NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

NTA generally specifies the age limit criteria for NEET 2025 on its official website. Candidate must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission as of December 31, 2025. There is no maximum age limit for NEET exam.

NEET 2025: Minimum 12th Percentage Required to be Eligible

Candidates who have passed or are appearing for 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2025 are eligible for NEET UG 2025 exam. They must study Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology, and English as compulsory subjects. The minimum qualifying marks is 50% for General and 40% for  SC, ST, OBC NCL, and PwD category candidates.

NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

NTA will release the official NEET 2025 exam pattern soon on their official website. As per last year’s paper pattern, candidates had to answer 180 MCQs (out of 200) in an exam duration of 3 hours 20 minutes. 

NEET UG 2025: Expected Exam Date

NEET UG 2025 is tentatively scheduled for May 4, 2025, though the official confirmation from the NTA is awaited. The final exam details, including the syllabus, will be announced after formal approval of the proposed changes in the NEET UG 2025 exam mode
