The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) released the updated tentative schedule for NEET-SS 2026 on April 29, 2026. The exam will be conducted on December 11 and 12, 2026, across the country.
Candidates must complete their prior entry qualification by January 31, 2027, to be eligible for the examination. The official notice has been published on the NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
NEET-SS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various DM/MCh and DrNB Super Specialty courses as per Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.
The exam is mandatory for candidates seeking admission to super specialty programs across government and private medical institutions in India.
NEET-SS qualifications are essential for entry to DM/MCh/DrNB courses under various universities and institutions nationwide, except for AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute.

Candidates must possess a recognized post-graduate medical degree or provisional pass certificate (MD/MS/DNB) or an equivalent recognized qualification to apply for NEET-SS 2026.
Candidates who are likely to complete their post-graduate qualification by the prescribed cut-off date of January 31, 2027, are also eligible to apply.
