Students should fill in as many choices as possible. Do not just list top colleges; include realistic options to ensure that they do not end up without an allotment.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has commenced the Round 2 registration process for NEET SS 2025 counselling. Eligible candidates seeking admission into DM, MCh, and DrNB programs can now register and exercise their choices through the official portal at mcc.nic.in.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a recognized MD/MS/DNB degree and have qualified for the NEET SS entrance exam. The selection process is strictly based on the NEET SS merit rank, college preferences, and seat availability. The application fee for counselling includes a non-refundable registration fee of ₹5,000 and a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000, totaling ₹2,05,000.
Key Differences Between NEET SS 2025 Round 1 and Round 2
- Eligibility for New Candidates: Unlike Round 1, which is the starting point for all, Round 2 allows fresh registrations for candidates who qualified but did not register in the first round.
- Automatic Participation: Candidates who registered in Round 1 but were not allotted any seat do not need to register or pay the fee again. They can directly proceed to choice filling.
- Upgradation Policy: Candidates who joined their Round 1 seat and opted for "willingness to upgrade" can participate in Round 2. If they are allotted a new seat in Round 2, their Round 1 seat is automatically cancelled.
- Forfeiture of Fees: In Round 2, there is no "Free Exit." If a candidate is allotted a seat and fails to join, their security deposit (₹2,00,000) will be forfeited. In Round 1, candidates generally had more flexibility to exit without such a heavy penalty.
- Seat Matrix: Round 2 includes "Virtual Vacancies" (seats held by Round 1 joined candidates who are looking for an upgrade) in addition to clear vacancies.
NEET SS 2025 Round 2-How to Apply?
The application process for Round 2 is conducted entirely online through the official MCC portal. Candidates must follow these steps to ensure their participation is valid:
- Portal Access: The candidate must visit the official website at mcc.nic.in and select the 'Super Speciality' counselling tab.
- Authentication: New users must click on 'New Registration' and enter their NEET SS Roll Number, Application Number, Name, and Date of Birth. Existing users from Round 1 can simply log in with their previous credentials.
- Fee Payment: Freshly registering candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹5,000 and a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000. Those who paid in Round 1 are exempt from this step.
- Choice Filling: One of the most critical steps is entering preferences. Candidates must submit a fresh list of choices for Round 2. Choices filled during Round 1 will not be considered.
- Choice Locking: After arranging the colleges in order of preference, the candidate must lock their choices during the designated window (April 4, 2026). If they fail to lock them, the system will automatically lock the last saved choices.
- Submission: After locking, it is advised to take a printout of the submitted choices for future reference during the reporting phase.
