National Testing Agency has conducted NEET 2025 exam on May 4, 2025, Sunday. The exam was conducted in a single day and session, from 2 PM to 5 PM in pen-and-paper-mode, based on OMR sheet. Based on the initial reaction, the NEET 2025 paper was moderate to difficult, with Physics being toughest and Biology was the easiest.
More than 22.7 lakh students are expected to appear for NEET 2025. NTA has released the NEET UG 2025 admit card on the official website on 30 April 2025. It is mandatory to carry the admit card with passport size photograph affixed on it, along with an original valid photo ID, and one color photograph.

- The question paper will comprise 180 compulsory questions and there will be no optional questions under Section B, a format adopted temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NTA has set specific guidelines for what you can and cannot wear during the NEET 2025 exam, and understanding these rules will help you avoid any last-minute issues.
- Allowed: Light-colored, plain trousers/jeans, half-sleeved shirts/T-shirts. Salwar suits, sandals/slippers with low heels.
- Not Allowed: Full-sleeved clothes, sarees, dark colors, heavy embroidery/layers. Jewelry, watches, metallic hair accessories, brooches.
Candidates wearing turbans, hijabs, or burqas must arrive early (by 12:30 PM) for security checks and ensure these were declared during the application.

- NEET 2025 Admit Card (with self-declaration): Printed on A4 paper; with a passport-size photo pasted in the designated space; must include a clear photograph and signature.

The NTA is expected to release the NEET Provisional Answer Key 2025 in the 2nd week of May 2025. Candidates will be given 4-5 days to challenge the provisional NEET answer keys. Candidates can attempt the NEET 2025 Question Paper in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam. Candidates choose the medium of NEET question paper during registration and once chosen, the option cannot be changed.

NEET 2025 is a three hour exam. In this duration, candidates have to answer 180 compulsory questions. NEET paper timing 2025 is from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Compensatory time of one hour for examination of three hours (03:00 hrs) duration for PwBD Candidate [having a physical limitation to write] will be given, whether such candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not.

NEET 2025 Difficulty level is expected to be moderate, with biology being the easiest and most scoring including 50% NCERT-based questions. Chemistry is expected to be of an easy to moderate difficulty level, with a mix of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. NTA conducted Mock Drills at all centers for NEET UG 2025 yesterday.
- Action has been taken against 165 Telegram channels and over 32 Instagram accounts for spreading misinformation reported through “Suspicious Claims Portal on NEET UG 2025 Examination”.
- Action has also been takes based on media reports alleging pre-planned malpractices – offering inflated marks in exchange for money or fradulant assurances. “All State Governments are on an alert to nab any culprit who tries to indulge in unfair means.”

All NEET 2025 candidates will undergo security checks, including thermal scanning and frisking, upon entering the exam center. Cooperation with security personnel during these checks is mandatory. Female candidates will be frisked by female staff in a designated area to ensureprivacy and comfort.

Mock drills have been conducted today, a day prior to the NEET 2025 May 4 exam, across all exam centers. These drills ensure that all the centers are adequately equipped, testing the following:
- mobile signal jammers are functioning properly
- sufficient manpower for frisking
- biometric authentication process is in place.
An official from Ministry of Education (MoE) stated that, “There will be three layers of monitoring on the exam day – at the District, State, and Central level.”

- They must also carry One passport-size photograph is to be affixed on Attendance Sheet.

All University exams scheduled for May 3 has been postponed by University of Kashmir due to NEET UG 2025 exam on May 4, 2025. The university exams will be conducted on a revised date – May 17, 2025 without any change in time and venue of exam.

NTA has cracked down on 165 Telegram and 32 Instagram accounts for spreading fake news about NEET UG 2025. In the portal for reporting suspecious claims in NEET exam, NTA has received over 1,500 reports on NEET UG paper leaks, most of them linked to Telegram channels.
