Mumbai University-affiliated colleges are expected to begin their classes for the 2026–27 academic session from June 13, 2026, with orientation programmes starting around that time. Regular lectures in many colleges are likely to commence from June 15–16, 2026, depending on the institution.
Some Mumbai University-affiliated private colleges may offer a limited number of management quota or institute-level seats (around 15%), depending on the course and institution. However, most UG admissions are carried out through the regular merit-list process, and students should verify quota availability directly with the concerned college.
Mumbai University releases merit lists separately for categories such as Open, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, DT/NT, and other reserved groups. Some colleges also publish separate merit lists for minority, in-house, and PwD candidates, resulting in different cutoffs for each category.
Candidates selected in MU UG Second Merit List 2026 will have to report to their allotted college for document verification and fee payment from tomorrow, i.e., June 1, 2026. Those who fail to confirm their admission by June 3, 2026, might have their seats cancelled.
In-house merit lists are admission lists reserved for students who studied in the same college or institution's junior college section. These students may receive preference over outside applicants for a certain number of seats, subject to the college's admission rules. However, admission for these students is usually not included in the Mumbai University UG Admission Process.
Mumbai University UG registration for 2026 admissions is currently closed, and no reopening has been announced. Students should regularly check the official admission portal, muugadmission.samarth.edu.in, for any vacancy rounds or fresh registration notifications. This may usually happen when a large number of seats remain vacant after the merit list rounds.
Mumbai University has officially announced the schedule for only three merit lists for UG Admissions 2026. However, if seats remain vacant after the third round, individual colleges may release a fourth merit list to fill the remaining seats. In 2025, MU had released fourth and fifth round UG merit lists due to seat vacancy.
Given below are the important dates for Mumbai University Second UG Admission Round 2026:
| Events | Dates |
|---|---|
| Second Merit List Releases | May 30, 2026 Out |
| Online Document Verification and Fee Payment Process | June 1 to 3, 2026 (until 3 PM) |
When checking the Mumbai University Second Merit List 2026, candidates should verify the following details carefully:
- Candidate's name
- Application/Form number
- Course and college allotted
- Category (General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, etc.)
- Merit percentage/marks considered for admission
- Admission status (selected/waitlisted, if applicable)

- Important admission deadlines and reporting dates

Advice for Mumbai University Second Merit List 2026 Candidates:
- Keep all original documents, photocopies, and scanned copies ready for verification between June 1 and June 3, 2026.
- Complete both document verification and fee payment before the deadline, as admission is confirmed only after these formalities are completed.
- Regularly monitor your college website, email, and admission portal for updates regarding verification and fee payment links.
- Do not delay in reporting to the college for admission, as some colleges offer admission on a first-come-first-serve basis, and you might lose the chance to get admitted.
For Mumbai University Second Merit List 2026 admissions, shortlisted candidates should generally keep the following documents ready for verification:
- Class 10 (SSC) Marksheet and Passing Certificate
- Class 12 (HSC) Marksheet and Passing Certificate

- Migration Certificate (for students from boards other than Maharashtra State Board, if applicable)
- Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, etc.)

- Attested photocopies of relevant certificates and documents
Colleges might also ask for additional documents; candidates must check the merit list notices on the official websites of the colleges for the same.
The chances of getting selected in the Mumbai University Third Merit List 2026 depend on the number of vacant seats and how close your marks are to the current cutoff. If your score is only a few percentage points below the second merit list cutoff, you may have a good chance as cutoffs often decrease in later rounds.
The Mumbai University Third Merit List 2026 will be released on June 4, 2026, at 7 PM. Candidates who did not qualify in the first and second merit lists can check the third merit list on the official websites of the respective colleges. The college-wise merit lists will also be updated here once released: Check First & Second College-Wise Merit Lists.
If you do not pay the admission fee within the deadline, i.e., June 3, 2026 (3 PM), after being selected in the Mumbai University Second Merit List, your allotted seat will usually be cancelled. The college may then offer that seat to another candidate in the subsequent merit list, and you may lose your chance of admission to that course and college.
Mumbai University Second Round Admission 2026 will commence tomorrow. Candidates who are shortlisted need to report to the allotted college between June 1 & 3, 2026 (upto 3 PM).
