New Delhi: Mumbai University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies to offer a Certificate Course on Temple Management. This will be one of the many diploma and certificate-level courses offered both offline and online as part of this collaboration.
As per Mumbai University, the MoU was signed by the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and Mumbai University’s Centre for Hindu Studies and Department of Sanskrit. This initiative will focus on providing students an opportunity to study Hindu philosophy with degree and certificate courses.
The Certificate Course on Temple Management jointly offered by Mumbai University and Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies will be introduced in line with the National Education Policy's goal of incorporating the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in the higher education curriculum
The one-of-a-kind management course includes a thorough understanding of Hindu philosophy and takes inspiration from real-life examples such as the implementation of management principles in established temples such as Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust and Shegaon's Gajana Maharaj Temple or ISKCON.
The curriculum will be developed in both online and offline formats by the departments. Based on student interest and career prospects, they will have the opportunity to expand the course to a postgraduate diploma or MBA program in the future.
