Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty Nominated As Chairman Of NITIE, Mumbai By The Ministry Of Education

Ministry of Education has nominated Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty to be the Chairman of NITIE, Mumbai with effect from November 7, 2020.

Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty is the founder and chairman of India's biggest logistics services provider, Allcargo Logistics.

Allcargo Logistics operates over 160 countries through more than 300 offices with more than 10,000 employees. It generates an annual income of approximately USD 1.2 Billion.

The concept of Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) business in India was first introduced by Allcargo Logistics. 

The greatest acquisition of Allcargo in the Indian Logistics space is Gati LTD, India's largest publicly traded company and a pioneer in express distribution.

Allcargo Logistics has had several global acquisitions like Belgium-based ECU-Line (now ECU Worldwide) under the leadership of Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty.

Other global acquisitions of the group include She Maritime, UK; China Consolidators, Hong Kong; FCL Marine Agencies, Netherlands; Econocaribe Consolidators, USA.

In India, other acquisitions of the group include Hindustan Cargo and MHTC Logistics.

Allcargo Logistics through a joint venture with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) operates a facility at Asia’s largest ICD at Dadri.

Belgium's highest civilian honor 'Distinction of Commander of the Order of Leopold II’ was conferred to Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty by H.M. King Philippe in 2015.
