Candidates must complete MHT CET 2026 registration by February 12 as authorities restrict exam centres within Maharashtra only.

MHT CET 2026 Registration Ongoing

The MHT CET 2026 registration process is currently underway at the official portal, with the last date to apply set as February 12, 2026. This year, the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has decided to conduct the entrance exam only within Maharashtra, removing out-of-state centres to improve exam security and transparency.

All candidates, including those from other states, must travel to Maharashtra to appear. The exam will be held in two sessions across April and May for PCM and PCB groups.

Why are MHT CET 2026 Centres Limited to Maharashtra Only?

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has limited centres to the state to strengthen security and maintain exam integrity.

In previous years, some out-of-state centres reported irregularities, which raised concerns about fairness and transparency. To avoid such risks, officials decided to conduct the exam exclusively within Maharashtra this year.

This change aims to ensure better monitoring, stricter supervision, and smoother exam management. The exam remains open to all eligible candidates, regardless of domicile.

However, students from other states must travel to Maharashtra to take the test. Authorities have clearly stated that no external centres will be provided this time.

Candidates are advised to choose their preferred Maharashtra city early while filling out the form to avoid last-minute issues.
