MDI Gurgaon has revised the MBA Selection Criteria for 2026-28, Class 10th and 12th weightage removed from the selection process, and new criteria introduced. Read the news for details.

Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has announced the revised MBA admission process for the 2026-28 cohort. MDI Gurgaon MBA admissions are conducted in two stages. The institute has removed Class 10 and 12 marks from the final admission stage and introduced a 5% Behavioural Assessment Test (BAT) to evaluate non-academic traits. All the other criteria have remained unchanged.
The revised policy will apply to all flagship programs, including PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB, and PGDM-Business Analytics for the 2026-28 batch. Since CAT 2025 exam scores still hold a 70% weightage in Stage 1 (Shortlisting for WAT-GD-PI) and 35% in Stage 2 (Final Selection – MDI Ranking) selection, candidates are advised to focus on their exam preparation well.
IIM Kozhikode will conduct the CAT 2025 exam on November 30, 2025. The registration window was open till September 20, 2025.
MDI Gurgaon MBA Revised Selection Criteria 2026- 28
MDI Gurgaon uses the two-stage admission process for Stage I shortlisting criteria unchanged. Stage II (final selection) now gives more weight to CAT, PI, GD, Written Analysis Test (WAT), and the newly introduced BAT, giving less importance to past school academic records.
Final-stage weightage now places CAT at 35%, PI at 20%, GD 10%, WAT 5%, BAT 5%, graduation and other diversity/experience credits filling the balance.
The change puts less weight on a candidate’s past academic record and focuses more on their present aptitude, communication skills, and overall personality.
