MCC Announces NEET Special Stray Vacancy Round for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing Seats; Check Detailed Schedule Below

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has declared the initiation of the NEET Counselling Special Stray Vacancy Round to fill the vacant seats in MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing under the AIQ and State Quota. The comprehensive schedule for this round has been published.

The counseling phase is divided into central and state categories. The central counseling started today, whereas the state counseling will commence on November 7, 2023. The deadline for admission to both counseling processes is November 15, 2023.

The State Counseling authorities are instructed to conduct seat processing for the Special Stray Vacancy Round in states after removing candidates who have been ALLOTTED in the Special Stray Vacancy Round by MCC.

In order to prevent the loss of valuable medical seats, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has approached the Hon’ble Supreme Court, seeking an extension of the final admission date for undergraduate courses and the organization of a Special Stray Vacancy Round, documented under Diary No. 45004 of 2023 in W.P (C) No. 76 of 2015.

This Special Stray Vacancy Round marks the final round for undergraduate medical courses for the academic year 2023. The specifics regarding the available AIQ seats can be found on the MCC website.

NEET Special Stray Vacancy Round: Important Details 

The eligibility for participation in the Special Stray Vacancy Round is granted to candidates without any seat allocation in either the All India Quota or State Quota. However, candidates failing to join the seats allotted in MCC Round-3 or subsequent rounds are considered 'Not Eligible' for participation.

Candidates who fail to occupy their allotted seats during the Special Stray Vacancy Round will forfeit their Security Deposit and will be disqualified from taking the NEET exam the following year.

The details of candidates assigned seats in special stray vacancy rounds administered by MCC will be shared with states. Those allotted seats by MCC will not be permitted to secure admission through state counseling.
