To be eligible for the Lucknow University 4-Year UG programs, students must have a cumulative score of 7.5 or above by the sixth semester.
New Delhi: The Lucknow University (LU) is set to embark on a transformative educational journey by introducing four-year UG programs in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The university will soon unveil the admission process for these innovative courses on its official website. Students aiming to enroll in these programmes will soon have access to detailed admission information.
LU’s new four-year UG courses are designed to integrate research opportunities from the very beginning providing students with a unique blend of theoretical and practical learning. This initiative aims to prepare students for advanced research and professional careers immediately after completing their undergraduate degrees.
This pioneering batch commencing in the 2024-25 academic year, will be the first to graduate with UG honours alongside a research degree. This marks a significant milestone for Lucknow University, which boasts over 500 affiliated colleges.
Who will be Eligible for the Lucknow University 4-Year UG Programme with Research Degree?
To qualify for the four-year UG programme with research opportunities, students must achieve a cumulative score of 7.5 or above by the end of their sixth semester. Adherence to this eligibility criterion is strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made.
Additionally, only LU-affiliated colleges offering postgraduate (PG) programmes in specific subjects will be authorized to admit students for the fourth year of the UG programme in those subjects. If a college does not offer a PG programme in a particular subject, students will have the option to complete their fourth year at another affiliated college that offers the requisite programme. However, students must pursue their fourth year in their major subject.
By integrating these new four-year undergraduate courses with research components, Lucknow University is aligning itself with NEP 2020’s vision of fostering a research-oriented educational environment. This initiative not only enhances the academic experience but also equips students with the skills and knowledge required for their future careers.
