Choice Options After Seat Allotment

Every allotted candidate must select one of four choices on the KEA portal. The selected choice determines whether the candidate accepts the seat, participates in the next round or exits the counselling process.

Choice Meaning
Choice 1 Accept the allotted seat and join the college. The candidate cannot participate in further rounds.
Choice 2 Accept the allotted seat but remain eligible for a better seat in Round 2.
Choice 3 Do not accept the current seat but participate in Round 2.
Choice 4 Reject the allotted seat and exit the KCET counselling process.

How to Pay the Fee and Report to the College?

Candidates selecting Choice 1 or Choice 2 must pay the prescribed admission fee online through the KEA portal. Payment can be made through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. There is no offline payment or bank challan option this year.

After completing the payment, candidates must download the fee receipt and admission order. Both documents are mandatory while reporting to the allotted college.

Candidates should carry the original documents and photocopies listed below:

  • KCET 2026 admit card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
  • Category and income certificates, if applicable
  • Karnataka domicile certificate, where required
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • KEA allotment order and fee payment receipt

What Happens If a Candidate Is Not Allotted a Seat?

Candidates who did not receive a seat in KCET Round 1 will automatically be considered for Round 2 counselling. They do not need to register again.

KEA will open a fresh option entry window before the Round 2 seat allotment process.

Why This Matters

The choice a candidate picks in Round 1 is binding for the rest of counselling. Choice 1 locks the seat permanently, while Choice 4 ends participation for good. Reading each choice carefully is important before clicking submit on the KEA portal.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and check the allotted seat.
  2. Download the allotment order and read all details carefully.
  3. Select Choice 1, 2, 3 or 4 within the KEA deadline.
  4. Pay the fee online if you have chosen Choice 1 or Choice 2.
  5. Keep the fee receipt and all original documents ready.
  6. Report to the allotted college before the reporting deadline ends.
Keep an Eye On

Watch the KEA portal for the Round 2 option entry schedule and the mop-up round dates in the coming weeks.
