KEA has opened the First Round of Option Entry Link for the Karnataka PGCET exam. Candidates can fill out their forms on the official website.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has officially opened the first round of option entry for the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2024. This year, the option entry link has been activated prior to the document verification process, marking a significant procedural change in the PGCET counselling timeline. Candidates who appeared for Karnataka PGCET 2024 can now submit their college and course preferences online through the KEA's official portal.
Option Entry Process and Important Guidelines
The option entry system enables candidates to list their preferred colleges and courses based on priority, which KEA will later use for seat allotment. To avoid technical issues during the submission process, candidates should follow a few key instructions:
- Screen Resolution: KEA recommends a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher for optimal visibility of the option entry window.
- Cache Clearance: Candidates are advised to clear browsing history or use incognito mode to avoid cache-related issues that may hinder the loading process.
- Save and Submit: After selecting preferences, candidates must click the ‘Save and Submit’ button to confirm their entries. KEA also recommends taking a printout of the submitted options for future reference.
Procedural Changes in 2024
In previous years, the document verification process took place before the option entry phase. This year, however, the document verification will occur after the mock allotment results are published, adding a new level of flexibility to the schedule. The KEA is expected to notify candidates of the document verification schedule shortly.
The KEA’s updated schedule is designed to allow candidates ample time for decision-making, while also facilitating a smooth allotment process. As the 2024 Karnataka PGCET counselling continues, candidates are encouraged to stay updated with official notifications on the KEA website.
