JNU will commence postgraduate admissions in mid-May 2026 following the declaration of CUET PG results by the National Testing Agency. Undergraduate admissions are expected to begin in July 2026 after CUET UG results are announced.

Jawaharlal Nehru University has announced that postgraduate admissions for the academic year 2026-27 will begin shortly after the National Testing Agency declares CUET PG 2026 results. The university released its official prospectus on April 8, 2026, confirming the admission timeline.
Candidates who appeared for CUET PG (conducted March 6-27, 2026) can expect registration windows to open in mid-May 2026. The university will conduct admissions through multiple merit list rounds with category-wise allocations.
JNU will conduct separate admission processes for postgraduate and undergraduate programmes through CUET scores. The PG admission process will include online application submission, merit list publication, pre-enrolment registration, and physical verification of documents.
Undergraduate admissions through CUET UG will commence in July 2026 after result declaration. The university follows a transparent merit-based selection system with reserved seats for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories.

JNU's postgraduate admission process will unfold in multiple rounds to accommodate all eligible candidates. The first merit list for PG programmes will be released in June 2026, followed by pre-enrolment registration and fee payment with seat blocking.
Candidates must complete physical verification of their original documents at the university campus during the specified dates. The university will release subsequent merit lists based on seat availability and candidate acceptance rates.
The second and third merit lists will be published in July 2026 to fill remaining seats across various postgraduate programmes. Candidates who secure seats in earlier rounds but do not complete registration will have their seats released for subsequent rounds. For undergraduate admissions, JNU will follow a similar merit-based process after CUET UG results are declared in July 2026. The university offers BA Honours, BSc Honours, and Certificate of Proficiency programmes through CUET UG.
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria (minimum 45% marks in Class 12 or equivalent) to participate in the counselling process. The application fee for UG programmes is Rs. 268, while Certificate of Proficiency programmes require Rs. 219.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official JNU website and the CUET portal for result announcements and admission notifications. Keeping all required documents ready including Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, caste certificates, and category-specific documents will expedite the admission process.
