New Delhi: The Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised an engaging lecture, "Our Role in Creating a Healthy Society," on March 11, 2024 at the Centre's library.

Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad, Chairman of Al-Hikmah Foundation, New Delhi, delivered the lecture, while Professor Tanuja, Hony. The Director of CSSEIP, JMI, Chaired the event.

Mr. Abu Faizan commenced the program with a warm welcome address, and Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad was honoured with a sapling by Prof. Tanuja. Dr. Arvind Kumar, Assistant Professor at CSSEIP, JMI adeptly moderated the session, ensuring a smooth exchange of ideas.

During his lecture, Dr. Ahmad emphasised the pivotal role of individuals and communities in promoting holistic health, which encompasses physical, mental, and social well-being.

Renowned for his contributions to education and social development, Dr. Ahmad underscored the importance of proactive involvement in enhancing health and wellness.

He highlighted education as a transformative force that shapes individuals and enriches societies, contributing to societal progress. Following the lecture, Prof. Tanuja emphasised the interconnectedness of mental, physical, and social well-being, emphasising the principles of the biopsychosocial model.

She stressed the significance of psychological health and the holistic approach to wellness, aligning with contemporary understanding. The lecture provided valuable insights into fostering healthy societies through individual and collective efforts.
