- Students can complete faster compared to Maths
- Helps increase overall attempts and confidence
- Planning section is conceptual but less calculative
- Questions are mostly theory-based and direct
- Mathematics remains the most time-consuming section
- Students with strong Planning concepts can boost overall marks
- Drawing section is usually easy to moderate and scoring
- Mathematics tends to be lengthy and calculation-heavy
- Students often save time in Drawing to compensate Maths difficulty
- Balanced strategy helps improve overall score
- 2025 papers had balanced difficulty across sections
- Drawing/Planning sections were scoring and predictable
- Mathematics was moderate but still lengthy
- 2026 expected to follow a similar pattern with slight increase in calculations

- Reach the centre early, complete all formalities calmly, and use any waiting time for light breathing exercises or positive visualization instead of last-minute revision.
- Stay hydrated, eat a light and familiar meal before the exam, and avoid heavy food that may cause drowsiness during the afternoon shift.
- If anxiety arises, take slow, deep breaths for 30 seconds between sections. Remind yourself that you have prepared well and focus only on the current question.
- Maintain a positive mindset and treat the paper as an opportunity rather than a burden, and remember that one section going average can still be balanced by strong performance in others.
- Reporting time for candidates is 1:00 PM
- The exam will be conducted in Shift 2 (3:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
- Candidates must reach the centre well before reporting time
- Early reporting helps complete biometric verification and frisking smoothly
- Start with light pencil sketching to establish correct perspective using vanishing points, then darken final lines. Focus on realistic depth and scale from the beginning.
- Pay special attention to proportion by comparing the sizes of objects and human figures relative to the scene. Maintain balance and eye-level view for a natural appearance.
- Use shading effectively with varying pressure (light for distant objects, darker for foreground) to create depth, texture, and a three-dimensional feel.
- Complete the drawing neatly within the allocated time (45–60 minutes per question), add simple details like people or surroundings, and avoid smudging by keeping your hand clean.
- Candidates must carry a hard copy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card
- Soft copy/digital admit card is NOT allowed inside the exam centre
- Entry will be denied without a printed hall ticket
- Along with admit card, candidates should also carry valid ID proof
- Follow all guidelines issued by National Testing Agency to avoid last-minute issues
- Attempt the Aptitude section first, as it is generally the fastest and most scoring part, and aim to finish all 50 questions in 45 to 60 minutes.
- Quickly solve easy questions on visualization, mirror images, paper folding, and architectural awareness first, then move to reasoning-based questions.
- Skip and Mark for review difficult questions so that you can try to solve them later if time allows.
- Maintain a steady pace of roughly 1 minute per question on average, leaving 5–10 minutes at the end for quick revision and unattempted questions.
- Avoid overthinking, as Aptitude rewards speed and accuracy, so trust your first instinct on visual and logical questions.
Yes, in most January 2026 analyses, Drawing (B.Arch) and Planning (B.Planning) were rated easier (easy to moderate) than Mathematics.
- Drawing was considered straightforward with standard themes; Planning was conceptual but less calculation-heavy.
- Mathematics was consistently reported as more challenging, lengthy, and time-consuming across shifts.
- This pattern helped many students score well overall if they performed strongly in Aptitude & Drawing/Planning.
The expected high-weightage topics for Maths and Aptitude test are given below:
- Mathematics: Higher weightage on 3D Geometry & Vectors, Coordinate Geometry (lines, circles, conics), Calculus (limits, integration, application of derivatives), Matrices & Determinants, Sequences & Series, Probability.
- Aptitude: Spatial reasoning, 3D visualization, paper folding/cutting, mirror/water images, famous buildings/monuments/architectural styles, materials & construction terms, logical reasoning.
Students should focus on quick-solving topics like basic visualization and standard GK in Aptitude for speed.

- As per National Testing Agency guidelines, strict protocols are followed at exam centres
- Candidates must undergo biometric attendance and frisking at entry
- If a candidate takes a bio-break (toilet break) during the exam:
- Re-frisking is mandatory
- Biometric verification must be done again
- This rule ensures exam security and prevents malpractice
