JEE Main 2025: Key Highlights of the New Provision for PwD Candidates

The choice between an oral test and a written test has been available as an option to the PwD candidates from the standard computer-based tests. This will accommodate diversity through making an inclusive examination system.

Written Exam Option: There will be supportive resources provided to PwD candidates at the assessment stage with the written option, such as scribes, extended time allowances, specialised testing materials, or accommodations depending on the needs of the candidates.

Optional Presence Across Attempts: JEE Main has multiple sessions each year. Tentative dates for January and April. Candidates under PwD choosing the written examination shall be allowed to opt for this format for any of the attempts they choose to take, thereby ensuring presence across all the attempts attempted.

Eligibility and Documents: Candidates who apply for written tests would be eligible to exercise their rights and shall provide the necessary documents as required by NTA, as may be specified. Such documents will qualify them to get special consideration under PwD, and therefore, the applicants will be taken care of.

Accessibility and Inclusion: As the NTA suggests, a written test will be provided in order to ensure inclusive testing since the same mode of testing may not attract every candidate. Therefore, this step also aligns with the ultimate aim of equal opportunities for everyone applying, which means providing the candidate eligible under PwD with more support to work at the optimum level.
